Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: CA12957
Rating:1.0
Comments:
Rude, condescending, and unprofessional. Ignores case law at the expense of reaching a fair ruling. The worst kind of judge.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: CA12885
Rating:2.9
Comments:
Bump this judge. He has no judicial temperament. He will not allow you to argue your opposition to a motion once he issued a ruling. Tends to side with government defendants, and even helps their counsel craft legal arguments.

Civil Litigation - Private

Rating:1.0
Comments:
Rude. Close minded. Does not listen. Poor temper. Implied threats. Represented a tenant.

Although Judge Quidachay loves to scold attorneys, I like the guy. You just have to know what you are talking about. If you try to BS him or give him some kind of sob story he will have no patience for it. I have seen much, much worse than Judge Quidachay and actually think he is one of the better judges.

Litigant

Comment #: CA11730
Rating:3.0
Comments:
In my own experience, this judge would make most of his decisions in favor of the parties with an attorney, especially in favor of the Landlords. He failed to take into account all the details that require balanced consideration to reach a fair judgment.
He pays little attention to the merits in the case, then makes an abrupt order when the time comes in favor of Landlords.

Civil Litigation - Govt.

Comment #: CA11708
Rating:2.2
Comments:
Completely imbalanced and at times, maniacal. I spent a lot of time arguing motions in his court room and I would just pray to catch him in a decent mood. He takes personal issue with Plaintiff attorneys and will not hesitate to attack their practice in open court. I'm not talking about quality of work or quality of representation, I mean he would rant about a firm or public agency that he didn't like. He'd mock parties before him. He'd personally lecture tenants. Highly unprofessional and inconsistent.

Litigant

Comment #: CA7440
Rating:1.0
Comments:
Rude, uninformed, short-tempered and prejudicial. Makes up his mind based on gut and convenience, not law or facts. No compassion. No patience. No room for rationale discourse. Narcissism at its worst.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: CA6955
Rating:1.0
Comments:
He is arbitrary, capricious, and extremely authority conscious, the essence of what a judge should not be. He will easily take offense if he thinks you are challenging his authority. However, if you are extremely careful not to annoy him and the other side is obnoxious, it may be an advantage to have this judge. Non lawyers should beware as this judge has very little patience.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: CA3099
Rating:1.3
Comments:
His is not a good judge. He makes decisions off the cuff and then changes his mind based on an irrelevant detail. He demeanor is very poor. He is flip and rude to litigants and attorneys. He gives the legal profession a very bad name.

Litigant

Comment #: CA3096
Rating:2.0
Comments:
Unfair and unreasonable. First he held in my favor, then lawyer on the other side said things about me that had nothing to do with the case and had no relevance to the issue at hand, and he changed his mind and ruled against me. His demeanor was rude, abrupt, unprofessional. I thought he was a court staff person, like a bailiff when I few walked in because he seems like he has only a high school education. He's not a good judge.

Criminal Defense Lawyer

Comment #: CA360
Rating:Not Rated
Comments:
Used to be the judge handling half of Law & Motion. Fair, good rulings. Reads the papers and asks good questions. Gives plaintiffs and defendants a fair shake. Generally tends to err on the side of letting pleadings through initial demurrers and motion stages. Good sense of humor.
