Comments:
Miram seems to operate on a level unbeknownst to reasonable adults. In most instances he is unwilling to LISTEN and comes to the bench predetermined on a ruling. Forget hearing both arguments. Pray your petition is in his hands as he rubber stamps those. Responses are tossed aside without merit usually. He allows questionable courtroom behavior for some, yet carries a big stick for others on the slightest mistake. To say he's fair, wouldn't apply in a description. It's akin to a schoolyard bully. Save your breath applying common sense. In the most solid arguments, he seems to discount those in favor of the party who, for all intent and purpose, would NOT prevail in any other courtroom. Justice, fairness, judicial protection or the right to be heard isn't served in his courtroom. No matter how logical and to the letter of law you believe your case to be, count on Miram doing the exact opposite. You leave shaking your head as in, "what just happened?" You fare better with Runde, who appears to at least read the complaint and response.

My experience is that this is a bitter, angry, and controlling Judge. He rolls his eyes and head when he doesn't like what someone is saying.

Why is this guy on the bench?

Judge Miram is evenhanded, knowledgeable on the law and is decisive — all qualities you are looking for in a judge. In probate matters, Judge Miram is second to none in swiftly deciding non-contested matters, and is patient and considerate to litigants in contested matters. Every probate court could learn a lesson from the way Judge Miram runs his court.

This judge is unkempt lazy and rude. He dismissed all my complaints despite evidentiary material submitted. He was replaced by judge Runde at last hearing and I hope he never returns.

Comments:
Has no respect for anyone. Rude, does not read all the facts and makes assumptions that are not true. No compassion for the elderly. Should not be a judge. Make sure you have a high profile attorney if you get this judge. Also, complain, complain, complain. The only way to get him out is to not re-elect him.

This judge is rude to everyone in court. He is an equal opportunity offender. Rolls his eyes, is impatient, barks at people about minor issues.

He is fair and makes reasonable rulings, but he lets you know what he thinks of you. Intense personlity

The laziest and most ignorant judge. Unless you are powerful, he just does not care.

two court trials & Miram was abusive & rude to my Counsel while protecting the son of the County Council Attorney for whom Miram worked 10yrs prior to The Bench. The son James had his license suspended, yet it was waved when his father became the 1st County Council Attorney for San Mateo Cnty. Nepotism. I will be happy to provide transcripts as evidence. This was 3yrs ago and my Father's Estate continues to be drained while he has been "talking with" my advanced dementia mother, while I have become homeless, savings & personal items all gone. Oh yes there is alleged criminality involved here. I am going public with all pertinent documents beginning in August. An "old family" name will come into disrepute because of James moral & ethical misbehavior. You are reading it here first. Thank you.

Another judge in San Mateo who is pre -occupied by court politics and remaining in the good graces of the "important judges" (ie.) the "gang of four".

Intelligence is not his problem. Temperament is. He treats lawyers with utter contempt and distain. This is clearly an angry and bitter man getting revenge for who knows what. A lawyer who claims to have known Judge Miram before he became a judge said he didn't used to be this way but "as soon as he put on a robe he became a p***k." If his friends think that about him, just imagine what a jerk he can be to those who don't know him.

If you've already papered Judge Forcum and you draw Judge Miram, dismiss and re-file in Federal Court!

The first thing this judge does before hearing any case is to determine if legal counsel is from within the county or outside. If you work outside San Mateo County, be prepared to lose the argument and your case. He's completely comfortable with ignoring undeniable documentary evidence and bending the law to suit his personal agenda, even if it means acting against the best interests of the defenseless and incapacitated people that he is supposed to serve.

If you get stuck with this judge, run for the hills. He is married to one of the ADA's in the county. This is the typical hated kid in school who is now getting even with everyone. Sadly, you never know who he is going to nail, so you cannot prepare.
