What others have said about Hon. Rise Jones Pichon

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: CA31622
Judge Pichon did not understand the probate code when she was in the Probate Division. She made bizarre rulings and became upset if you disagreed with her ruling.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: CA31553
Judge Pichon made orders appointing a "Guardian Ad Litem" for a Power of Attorney and Advance Health Care Directive - what the heck is that?

Essentially she appointed someone to act in these roles who were not named in the documents (this is not provided for under the law).

She did this without any notice to the senior.

The person she appointed in a fiduciary role was not named as a beneficiary in the estate planning documents and just happened to be a local well-known government official who retained someone with a close family relationship to act as his attorney.

Comment #: CA11516
Appears completely ignorant of CCP. Makes up the rules independent of law or controlling authority. Per other comments, I don't know if she is dumb, but she has zero knowledge of even the most basic rules. It is embarrassing.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: CA11431
Lazy and dumb, abdicates responsibility to hear cases, defers completely to lying state attorneys giving unsworn testimony of counsel without scrutiny, doesn't ask questions or conduct inquiries, doesn't permit evidentiary hearings, no apparent preparation, ignores or is ignorant of evidence rules, ignores due process (practically non-existent), doesn't read btiefs, acts like state puppet, only pretends to listen, fails to disclose blatant conflicts of interest, really doesn't care, worst judge I ever saw, just does as she is told, status climber.

Comment #: CA10094
ccp 391.8 requires presiding judge to permit VL to file new litigation if it has merit. Pichon denied request for me to file motion to vacate an order that is void, and all orders that conferred validity to the underlying void order. Carlson v. Eassa. Violation of the statute

she is lazy and dumb.

Criminal Defense Lawyer

Comment #: CA4898
This judge is simply dumb, and does not have any sense of reality.
