Does not read the moving papers, over and over, does not let the attorney make a decent record, inflexible, lazy and seems not to be interested in the law. We have taken him to task on a motion for reconsideration at least once for failure to read the papers citing his duty as a judge, and got the motion granted in our favor, but it took a second motion, waste of time and money. Yikes! This guy is a bozo..how did he get on the bench? Issued a tentative ruling when the written opposition was not due until the end of the day, or alternatively, could be argued orally at the hearing. Says he presides over summary proceedings all the time but never heard of the Civil Rule on summary proceedings motions for summary judgment that allows the oppn. the day before the hearing? That is LAZY for a judge to not know that. And scary that he doesn't care to educate himself on the rules. Needs to be removed from the bench.

I write as a loser of a case I thought should have been granted summary judgment in my client's favor. But I think Judge Pierce was for some reason - trial brief, familiarity with local opposing counsel, whatever - predisposed toward the other side's legal argument, despite sound legal authorities on our side. His tentative ruling reflected his adoption of their points in toto. We await his statement of decision...

Typical old white guy judge who lets white men talk and engages them with far less scrutiny and far more deference than his counterparts. I watched this occur on a crowded law and motion docket time and time again. He rushes attorneys through oral argument and dismisses meaningful discourse in favor of merely processing the cases. Prefers to handle matters with an eye toward finishing his calendar early instead of toward vetting issues earnestly. Seems lazy and apathetic at times. Pompous and inflexible.

The judge ruled on the motion without even reading the opposition! "Your opposition is eight pages! Are you crazy? I really don't appreciate that!" Lesson learned: always keep the opposing papers to no more than 4 pages, otherwise Judge Pierce will not even read it.

Excellent guidance In terms of helping juror feel comfortable...Today I completed Jury Duty under this Judge's instructions...I was able to repeat often to a rather incompetent Foreman of the Jury, this judge's clear and consistent guidelines ...Particularly No Personal Stories...We were able to deliver a verdict in a timely manner...

What a terrible, terrible judge!!! He was incredibly, openly, and flagrantly biased the entire trial. He let the other side, who he has probably known his entire career get away with anything he wanted, and sustained every objection he had, no matter how baseless. He overruled almost every objection I had without even listening. He even interrupted me several times when just trying to make a record for the court. I was shocked and appalled at this judge's behavior, bias, and overall incompetence. I agree with the other attorney about getting rid of him for cause right away next time.

I've had three rulings from Pierce. One was questionable by myself and multiple attorneys. Two were flat out wrong. In one, he dismissed my case against the defendant because the defendant did not show up for court. I am recusing him with cause in the future. This man should not be judging people's lives.

Peter Principled on to the bench ! This guy doesn't know the law from where he sits on the bench. He is daffy and has no idea how to manage anything beyond traffic court . He hates women, like much of the Santa Clara County Bench

He did not even read our Ex-Parte Motion. He only reviewed the Writ of Attachment when making the decision. He is definitely biased towards landlords, and he should not be assigned landlord tenant cases. This area of law needs objective judicial oversight as there are too many evictions occurring in Northern California. There needs to be a better system in place. One that is fair to both sides, and protects the interests of both with fairness, and objectivity.

He is a terrible judge, he saw the evidences from the plaintiff in the case that he presided as a judge, he knew the people was robbed by this mean wealthy guy, but he totally ignored the evidences and ruled in the favor to that wealthy guy, who stole the whole entitle asset of the people who sued him. This judge made shame to the American Legal system and should be remove from the bench. How did he became a judge? Through his mom's connection, check it out, its really sad to learn how this person got to sit in the highest honorable job.
