Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: CA13710
Rating:1.8
Comments:
I have been practicing Family Law for over 30 years. Judge Begen favors certain attorneys and she decides her rulings before she hears any evidence or testimony even if the evidence is clearly opposite to her ruling. Thankfully, she retired.

Comment #: CA13476
Rating:1.0
Comments:
She's very biased. I'm not just referring to her rulings. The bias begins the first moment you appear before her. She called my family law case and I didn't know what hit me. Right off the bat, she started yelling at me. How could she get such a negative opinion of me from the get-go? Clearly, she must have listened to someone sympathetic to my ex before hearing the case. Her ruling, not surprisingly, reflected her extreme animosity toward me.

Rating:2.0
Comments:
Easily manipulated by the skilled and perhaps favored attorneys. Perhaps overworked. Appeared to be more concerned about going on to the next case than looking into issues thoroughly.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: CA10018
Rating:1.5
Comments:
Lazy, lazy judge. Allows cases to drag on indefinitely for the benefit of her 'favorite' attorneys. Needs to find a new job or retire!

Comment #: CA9534
Rating:1.0
Comments:
Easily swayed by attorneys she either favors, or who have learned to game and play her and the legal system. The taxpayers could do better. Appears jaded in her present position, needs rotated if allowed to stay.

Comment #: CA9484
Rating:Not Rated
Comments:
Has become jaded.Has great ability to become capable again with continuing education, reassignment, nice vacation, and/or a different judicial setting.

Litigant

Comment #: CA9482
Rating:2.0
Comments:
Easily biased, poor overall, has favorite attorneys, sometimes did not study adequately prior to sessions, relied on attorneys. Very intelligent but now becomung jaded, needs rotated. Was a victim of CA recession, too many cases. Tended to trust favorite attorneys, however these few "priviliged" Stanislaus County attorneys have learned to capitalize on this and will game and play her.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: CA6630
Rating:8.4
Comments:
Judge Begen is very fair-minded, perhaps to a fault, giving all parties the opportunity to be heard, and is adept at bringing parties to resolution of contested family law, probate and conservatorship matters.
