Criminal Defense Lawyer

Comment #: CA22770
An answer was filed on same day and only hours after other party’s request for entry of default.
On 473 motion he would not set aside the default.

Never seen such stupidity in 40 years of practice.

He is very conservative BUT will apply the law. He is a gentleman and will treat everyone with respect. While I did not agree with all of his rulings, I cannot say that he did not provide me and my client with a fair trial.
I would not 170.6 him, regardless of what side I represented.

I had this judge in 2005-6. He is great. I've been put through so much court since I appeared before him in a horrible civil case regarding a house I purchased full of dead pigeons. He is by far the most professional judge I've been before. Not because I won, but because he didn't show bias either way, listened to the facts, and just did his job. There was a small hearing bone that he should have let me have emotional distress damages, by ruling in our favor in jury instructions. However, over all, this is a fabulous judge!! Really.

We chose to go for bench trial because our dilemma was a legal technical issue related to wrongful foreclosure proceedings and as such it could not be decided a jury. He completely ignored the statute and gave the judgment in the favor of the plaintiff (the bank) based on the equity of the case. Completely unfair judge. He basically made up his mind on our MSJ and before we started the trial. He overruled every single objections we had. Avoid this judge like the plague.

Comment #: CA5813
Not a fair judge at all. Did not want to read trial brief. It was obvious his decision was made before hearing anything about the case.

Judge O'Neill possesses an excellent blend of legal knowledge, professional demeanor, and organizational prowess that makes him one of the best jurists that I have ever appeared before.
