What others have said about Hon. Jack W. Berryhill

Comment #: CO239
I had a bank dishonor a loan modification that was paid as agreed for nearly 3 years and foreclosed. Judge Berryhill ruled twice in our favor. He found cases from 40 years ago to help us. He has the most integrity of anybody I've ever met.

Judge Berryhill and George Wills walking into the sunset, hand in hand with the MRA....

As a lay witness at my very good friend's divorce procedure I found Judge Berryhill to have already have his mind made up about how he'd rule concerning a common-law marriage. Sad for my friend that Judge Berryhill is a closed-minded, chauvinistic type of individual, to the nth degree. I do not believe that he has served in this position, as a judge, to deliver justice at all. He upheld his conservative values perfectly, thereby screwing my friend perfectly. In the long run my friend's ex-husband got away with ALL of his lies. In the short run both he and Judge Berryhill are responsible for the great amount of harm they did to my friend today.

Comment #: CO213
In his courtroom, he values men who use guns and sexual violence to gain power more than women who seek help and empowerment through hard work, therapy, and education for themselves and their children. His decrees enable substance abusers and keep the cycle of domestic violence in full motion, often leaving victims and children to be subjected to further trauma and even more violent acts. He needs to get his act together.

Comment #: CO212
This judge needs to retire. He is totally lacking in judicial temperament, and his biases for or against certain attorneys and litigants are obvious. He fancies himself a legal scholar -- too bad for the people who appear in front of him that he is stuck in 1985. (Perhaps I am bitter because I have never encountered such asinine rulings before.)

Comment #: CO198
Judge Berryhill should retire. He has become disconnected from the people that put him on the bench and has no empathy for the working class. His archaic views and beliefs need to be addressed and his rulings need review.

Comment #: CO189
Rating:Not Rated
Judge Berryhill would have received top grades a century ago, but should be removed from the bench today. His archaic views on the rights of women and the well-being of children are amply demonstrated in his courtroom demeanor and in past family court rulings. He does not do his homework, and is loath to consider evidence on hand which does not support his preconceived views. His courtroom manner intimidates attorneys and litigants alike.

Criminal Defense Lawyer

Comment #: CO76
Yes, he's smart - very smart - almost as smart as he believes. He's a good judge for complex matters and generally a hardworking, reasonably civil, fellow.

Comment #: CO28
Overall, Judge Berryhill does a good job. He sometimes gets frustrated with counsel and makes his distress with counsel apparent to the jury. But he generally does a good job and lets you try a good case.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: CO11
Judge Berryhill brings many years of valuable experience as a trial practitioner to the bench - and it shows. He is first rate in all categories.
