I would not recommend keeping her as a judge in Jefferson County. She does a disservice to all parties involved with a lack of understanding, no control of her courtroom and lack of appropriateness.

Judge Oeffler is the top judge in Jefferson county.although she sentenced me to prison with the maximum sanction, she was and is very kind. her professionalism is evident in the way she conducts her court room proceedings. Judge Oeffler researched and learned about my particular case. I have nothing but good things to say about her knowledge, demeanor and over all respect.I do think my sentence was a little extreme considering the crime.Bottom line is she saved me from harm. I wish her the best? she deserve's it.

I've always wondered why Lily Oeffler is on the bench in the first instance. With her blatant misconduct in covering up matters in the aftermath of the Columbine shooting as an Assistant County Attorney, she really is unfit for service. With that said, I echo the comments of the lawyer who has posted here. She seems completely detached from what occurs in her courtroom. For example, having sat in her courtroom perhaps a dozen times, she appears to be sending emails and looking at non-judicial, non-case related items online while court is in session. Indeed, she will laugh at these items at inopportune times (like in the middle of a criminal sentencing docket).
