Really Judge Gutierrez does not appoint others to the bench. Ric Blundell has obviously found this website and still can't stand that he has been reprimanded for his actions against judicial officers and others who will not tolerate his unprofessional behavior as the Supreme Court of Colorado called it...

In handling juvenile delinquency cases, I found that Judge Gutierrez has a good demeanor but is unwilling to become more knowledgeable about the law. More troubling is Judge Gutierrez's appointee, Magistrate Rebecca Koppes Conway, who demonstrates open bias towards the prosecution. Magistrate Conway is also not knowledgeable of the law, and regarding pre-trial and sentencing matters, both are inclined to render decisions without having or being willing to state a legal basis. Magistrate Conway's demeanor is reprehensible toward litigants. She makes inappropriate and demeaning comments to litigants and makes factual findings based on assumptions that are not based on evidence. She also has been known to engage in inappropriate investigation of cases outside the court, including talking to probation officials without notice and then making findings based on ex parte conversations with probation officers. As she is Judge Gutierrez's appointee, he is responsible for her.
