Comments:
Hateful, insulting, poor listener, actually insults attys and litigants in open court AND off the record. Often disregards the practice book, chooses sides in a case from the onset and cuts off attys presenting evidence to the court. He needs to retire asap.

The first trait you must get used to is he is playful. He is very smart, but does not lord it over the lawyers. He has no reason to show he is smarter than the litigants, because it is pretty obvious. Even if you got up VERY early it would be hard to be better prepared than him. Once he commented on one of my evidentiary objections that he hadn't granted such an objection in a couple of decades and was I really going to press it? I said yes your honor, because it was well founded. He granted it, saying yes, it was. As I said, playful. A true delight.

Comments:
Judge Koletsky is an equal opportunity attorney abuser. He loves to educate lawyers on the rules of evidence, how to examine witnesses, etc. He has a phenomenal memory and a deep understanding of the law. Many of his evidentiary rulings were in error. He insists on absolute control over his courtroom and insists on being the smartest guy in the room. He is overinvolved in questioning and leaps to conclusions -- some of which are accurate -- very quickly. All that said, I would rather have a highly involved, really smart judge, like Judge Koletsky, than a passive judge.

He verbally abused an ill attorney and exhibited zero command for the procedural history or posture of the case.
