Sometimes he’s on point and good - otherwise times he’s long winded and difficult. With Judge Tierney you get a mixed bag. He’s very intelligent. And sometimes he’s absolutely stupendous. Other-times, disappointing. Lately, I find him to be more fair minded - and willing to follow the arguments and the law to what is fair - even if it seems to run contrary to precedent.

Comments:
Smart. Works hard. But in the end its all about him. His concern is what interest him and what he sees as is the proper end, not what is just. Is condescending to all and can be mean to build up his ego. Takes simple matters and makes the complex. He should retire

He should not be allowed to sit on the bench.

Blatantly biased, legislates From the Bench in favor of the plaintiffs represented by foreclosure Mills and should be disbarred. Has admitted to hav to having an economic interest in the financial institutions wherein he is thr presiding judge. There exists evidence in the form of transcripts where he has rule in a foreclosure matter against the homeowner contrary to prior rulings under the same circumstances. In one case he was clear that he had no subject matter jurisdiction but that he was going to do everything in his power to make sure that the homeowner lost the case and his home. Without a doubt these are grounds for this parment and possible Criminal Charges.

Judge Tierney is smart, no doubt about that. The problem is he fell the need to prove he is smart to the assemble multitude. That can create problems. His opinions are well researched, but can be a little bit more cutting than he needs to be. He won't let you do a half assed job.

Judge Tierney in Stamford, CT - August 2017
He is a mess. Hard to follow, bizarre behaviour. The comments on this sight are all believable but some years have passed and it seems he is more than just self absorbed. The fact that he hit a marshal while driving into the court parking area without stopping, is more than alarming. Read that story and then observe him in a courtroom - he should be forced to take some time off for a mental evaluation.

Clearly intelligent, but with peculiar mannerisms. Seemingly angry by default.

Comments:
I have probably had 100 cases before Judge Tierney and knew him when he was a lawyer. He almost always understands the case right away and his decisions are generally on target. His temperament is a little out of control but I have seen much worse. He is not malicious. Just overworked.

Comments:
It is a rare thing to be in the presence of someone who is an expert and commands his area of knowledge to such a degree that no one dares question him, and there is no one else of a higher level of expertise to go to to judge his performance.
Truly awe inspiring!

Comments:
Judge Tierney is unique. He is very intelligent, hard working and expects others to be the same. Woe to an attorney, and to his or her client,if that attorney is not prepared. It is a pleasure to try a case before him.

Comments:
Self-absorbed to the max. Needs to make everything about himself, and spends way too much time making matters complicated rather than resolving issues. Needs to be the smartest person in the room and by so doing wastes the time and money of both attorneys and clients. He is also mean-spirited and a bully.

Ego is out of control. He takes over the entire proceedings and makes everything about him. He lacks mercy and proper application of the law
