What others have said about Hon. John J. Nazzaro

Criminal Defense Lawyer

Comment #: CT272
Judge Nazzaro is one of the best judges that I have appeared before, and I have appeared before lots. Is he a rubber stamp for the defense or the prosecution? No! Does he demand that each side be prepared and articulate a substantive argument. Yes! He is engaging, charismatic and very sharp. He will rule as evenhandedly as any judge so long as the attorneys have argued their case well. I find his demeanor refreshing, and I find that most true professionals get along with him just fine.

Although Hon. Nazzaro is intelligent, his demeanor leaves much to be desired. He is someone who can really ruin your day if you're not mentally ready for the abuse beforehand. I wouldn't go so far as to say he should be removed from the bench, but I would note that he has had difficulties in nearly every judicial district where he has been on the bench. Fortunately, even his fellow-judges realize he's a menace. Apparently, he's just as unpleasant with them as he is with the people on the other side of the bench.

Comment #: CT16
This man has a temper and openly threatens and bates litigants. He is a little man in a powerful position who (IMO)gets his kicks from having power and intimidating those in his courtroom. This guy should be taken off the bench.

It is apparent to me and others that this Judge makes his mind up before entering the chamber. He is exactly the type of judge that is not impartial, is biased, makes judgments not based upon evidence or facts, but on his intuition. Furthermore, it is very possible that this Judge is motivated to keep the system running and controlling this perverse family court system.

This judge bates, intimidates, and threatens in court. His temperament is vengeful. His pension to make judgements without looking at evidence is astonishing. He should be taken off the bench.

Comment #: CT11
I wonder how many innocent citizens this judge put in prison while a prosecutor. From my personal experience Judge Nazzaro is far from anything a Family Court Judge should be... Hi minimal experience as a Judge with the stubborn, tunnel vision of a prosecutor gleams in a negative fashion in the court room.
