Comments:
This judge is rude and forms a judgement before all the facts have been presented. Judge Gardner is incompetent to handle a very simple court hearing and should be removed from his duties on the bench. I filed a complaint this day with the Commission On Judicial Disabilities And Tenure and would suggest others do the same.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: DC286
Rating:2.5
Comments:
Knowledgeable on the law and the court rules but only because of the many years on the bench-not because of any intellectually curious exploration or learned study. Is infamous for cutting litigants off during argument by presenting his own argument because he likes the sound of his own voice. he is a product of dc politics and probably would not have a chance at the bench in any other jurisdiction except maybe MD. his mannerisms, tone, and selection of words indicates a lack of respect for the bench. in other words, a bit of a ghetto performance to things. at times can be rude to parties but the rudeness is even handed and not aimed at any particular side. all he has is time so he has little regard for the time of others and goes off on tangents. sometimes, he even has conversations with himself, posing rhetorical questions to justify his positions. but, he can be comical at times and he knows the rules of evidence quite well. simply a moody man.

Court Staff

Comment #: DC262

Comments:
Always asks defendants if they understand what they're signing, walks through the paperwork with them.
He doesn't have much patience for people trying to pull one over on him. He's been working in landlord and tenant law for decades, and there isn't much that he doesn't know about it. If you try to get one past him, he will yell at you.

Very disorganized, ready for retirement, memory problems. Ghetto mentality.
