Comments:
Very anti-pro se plaintiff, favors large corporations especially when attorneys representing these corporations do not follow court rules. Extremely slow on ruling on motions.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: DC412
Rating:7.3
Comments:
Fair and even-handed, personable; very bright, even-tempered; good scholarship; but marred by persistent and lamentable lack of control of his docket. Expect to wait an unreasonably long time for a decision.

Comments:
smart and pleasant. known for being a good judge and even when he rules against you, you respect his decision. he always puts forth his findings of fact and conclusions of law. not always on point, but he certainly tries. he gives every party the right to a meaningful hearing and for that, he is highly regarded. probably one of the best judges in dc sup ct.

Civil litigation
Judge Mott is a very nice, polite man who does not want to rule against either party. As a result, cases go on far to long and he is too lenient with incompetent lawyers because he does not want their clients to suffer from unprepared, illprepared and lazy lawyers. If he would stop being so nice and rule on motions for summary judgment in a prompt manner, he would be a good judge.

Judge Mott is refreshing, polite, eminently reasonable, and is somehow able to manage a good control of his courtroom without losing his genteel attitude. Intellectually acute. A pleasure to appear before.
