I use to thickly highly of Judge Diaz when I covered motion calendar hearings pre-pandemic for my former employer. At that time Judge Diaz was no nonsense. However since then I have had several lawsuits I’m litigating before him. His coziness with opposing counsel became evident when he was quite chatty, acknowledged what was filed and denied relief that was clearly in my client’s favor. While he can be very pleasant and cordial watch out if he knows the opposing party and anyone involved because he has unconscious bias and will rule against you wrongfully when the law does not support his ruling. Have a court reporter at all times as you may need to appeal. Also read the comments when the Judge was in the family division. I have only encountered this Judge in the civil division. This guy cost innocent people MILLIONS OF DOLLARS when he ruled in favor of Raging Bull LLC during a TRO hearing.

Thankfully the FTC launched a lawsuit against Raging Bull a few years later but... Reemberto Diaz sides with frauds and seems to be partial for Attorneys and against pro se litigants.

Again, his actions cost innocent people MILLIONS.

He is also unnecessarily rude to all litigants.

This judge is absolutely out of order. He adores child abusers and child predators. He does not fight for the Kids. He only fights for men who abuse children. Refuse to go over evidence and does not allow women to speak no matter how long strong her evidence is!!! Forced me to enter a time sharing order even if the guy doesnt ever comply or see the children. Him and lawyer rick wants to force you to pay them especially if you are a struggling single mom even if your case is easily proven!!! Violate childrens and mothers rights and allows men to get away with it by doing less and paying less!!! Unbelievable.

I am not saying this Judge is a 10 because he always agreed with what I wanted to made judgments in my favor. I am commenting based on the fairness he provided and actually reviewed the evidence, heard testimony, and based his judgements on law rather than personal opinions. He also was patient enough to explain.

Worse JUdge in Miami, Lazy, rude and gets favors from attorneys. He is fraudulent and ignorant judge. Take him off the bench, he is a danger to the community and destroys people by accepting money from fraudulent attorneys. I had him in a divorce hearing and he rip the person apart since the wife's brother had money and bought him and the attorneys. Is this Miami? I think it is the Judge, this old Cuban sum bag. Get him off before he does more danger to the community!!! Please fire him. I am sure he is a drunk and a crazy man, Only cares about money!!

This judge is a despot. He is irrational, angry, out of control, engages in ex party contact. I believe his assistant was killed at some point. He is a total sociopath and it can only be money, connections and some type of power structure in place that keep him in office. He is an absolute disgrace not only to the profession but to humanity in general. God only knows what this man engages in off the bench but that's Miami for you.

Encourages fraudulent lawsuits. Refuses to stand against fraud. Refuses to set settlement conferences to resolve matters fraught with uncertainty and fraud. Favors certain local attorneys to the point of absurdity, bias and unfairness.

Lazy (demonstrates not having read pleadings prior to hearings although the first thing he says is “I’ve read the pleadings”) Condescending and disrespectful toward pro se litigants. He appears to be “hanging in there” until retirement

Diaz is either 100% lazy or 100% racist. He doesn't bother to look at or review the pleadings before ruling. He is so ignorant, biased and harmful. How is he still on the bench doing such damage?

i had to deal with him with a child custody battle. This judge pulls for the men and does not give women time to talk. He was very rude and condecending and just assumes the women are emotional and out to get men, terrible judge. Unprofessional and does not listen to any facts. I have no idea how this man has been granted to work in family court. very disappointed.

Judge Diaz presided over a contentious divorce and child support case, and handled the situation in an even-handed manner. During hearings, his professional demeanor, incisive questions and ability to recall minor details from months before were impressive.

Comments:
Judge Diaz was a well regarded criminal defense attorney before taking the bench. As a judge in the criminal division he brought a warmth and sense of purpose to his courtroom that was refreshing. Never afraid to make a ruling but always with dignity and respect for the lawyers and for the defendants or victims. Not afraid to sentence severally if the case mandated such a ruling. Was always on time and always was generous in setting hearings on short notice. Now on the civil bench, he is already missed on the criminal bench.
