Comments:
I have been before her as a criminal prosecutor many years ago. She was typically irritable and unpunctual. She seems to dislike young female attorneys. She is not unintelligent, nor is she a great legal mind- but her effectiveness as jurist seems diminished because she doesn't fully engage. Some reviews here suggest she should be in Family - she is a cold person, so I don't think that would be a good fit either.

There are two places that I dread venturing to. A reggeaton festival and this court room. If you are scheduled to appear for her 9 am motion calendar, be prepared to stay through 11 am. She is usually late and when she isn't, it wont matter any ways, you will still leave around 11 am. Typically her 9:30 calendar will begin at 11. Why would you have two sets of motion calendar hearings back to back, when you can barely manage one? I ask myself. She can barely manage a court room and I get the feeling that she does not know the law well. As someone previously posted, she should be entertaining matters over at the Family or Probate Division. She is not qualified to decide complex litigation issues.

If you have a special set, you may as well circumvent scheduling and simply set it on a 5 min motion calendar because she will entertain it during that time. Her personality is very soft and polite. She is a very nice lady, but highly ineffective to be trusted with adjudicating complex civil matters. If there is a silver lining to all of this, that she is not presiding anywhere near the Gerstein Building.

We're stuck with her for several more years. Can't she be shipped off to {break up the} family court, where some issues may be emotionally difficult, but they don't require an ability to comprehend complex legal issues...because Judge Lindsey just cannot comprehend complex legal matters.

Comments:
Fair and courteous, reads all motions, reads case law, knows civil litigation very well, one of the best circuit court judges in Miami.

Comments:
Never prepared. Does not review or even sometimes comprehend what is put in front of her.
Seems to be pro plaintiff even when the law is on the defendants side. Should review her cases and look up or ask what she does not understand!

Civil Litigation - Private

Rating:1.8
Comments:
One gets the clear impression that she doesn't understand a word you're saying. She's never prepared, no matter how many efforts one makes to get her materials in advance of a hearing. Completely unpredictable in her rulings.

Seems like a nice person, but...

Does not prepare for hearings at all. Never reads motions or briefs, despite multiple efforts to provide them to her. Has difficulty understanding even basic arguments. Avoids making decisions. Has no business being on the bench.

Judge Lindsey doesn't have the credentials to be a Judge. She's a nice lady, but sometimes seems like a deer caught in headlights. This is because of her lack of litigation experience before she became a judge. Often will not rule on the spot because I believe she truly doesn't know even the simplest of legal propositions. Shouldn't there be a rule that a trial court judge should have at least some first chair trial experience?

Not the brightest bulb on the tree. She is smart enough to know her limitations however, and often will not rule on the spot because she simply doesn't know some relatively general rules of law.

She has a good temperament though and at least knows that she doesn't know. Nice lady, but should not be a judge.
