"Shelly" Schwartz has been watching too
much "Judge Judy." Like her, he is a disgraceful ill tempered bullying loud mouth who should immediately be removed from the bench. He plays favorites and then acts biased towards the side he decides he doesn't like by berating them and not giving them a chance to present their argument. He does all the talking!! This is not how real judges in the common law system should act. Unlike the heavy handed judges in civil law systems, common law judges should be impartial dispassionate arbiters of cases.

Litigant

Comment #: FL2444
Rating:1.0
Comments:
This judge is mentally unstable, ignorant about legal procedure & the law in general, and utterly unprofessional in his capacity as a judge. This judge truly is a disgrace to the judicial system and should be promptly removed from the bench. He has a horrible reputation for screaming at litigants in an unprovoked manner, arriving unprepared to court and then thumbing through court documents thirty seconds before the hearing or trial, making irrational rulings, showing extreme bias without justification or reason, and committing a host of other violations that wreak havoc on the court system. Once the damage is done, he'll recuse himself from the case only after he's wasted valuable court time and alienated one or both parties in the action. Schwartz has received criticism on the Miami-Dade Court blog for his unprofessional, abusive, and bullying behavior. Apparently, he angered a few attorneys by his obnoxious "demeanor" in court. On the blog site, he wrote a rambling, incoherent apology replete with atrocious grammatical errors for his bad behavior. As an example, he writes, "Maybe people should know they may loose their license for certain violations of the law, etc." It should read, "People should know they may LOSE their LICENSES for certain violations of the law." Hopefully, this individual will retire when his term is up in 2012 and we'll be rid of him once and for all. I rest my case.

Is fair to all, especially litigants without an attorney. Reviewed prior and the litigant must be referring to another judge because this one goes straight down the middle, favoring neither the state nor the defendant. If he has any bias, it is in favor of the defendant because he helps defendants during trial by not allowing some information in.
