Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: FL3079
Rating:9.4
Comments:
Judge LaPorte appears to review the documents and abide by the evidence presented. He shows absolutely zero emotion or indication for bias towards either party. Understandably, divorce/custody issues are more emotionally charged, but these comments do not resemble the Judge LaPorte that I know.

This judge appears to have special relationships with some Lawyers and do not hold his clients in contempt for anything, still trying to get a diuvorce in Walton County almost 2 years and he will not hold my ex in contempt for anything, Keeping my child from me and putting her with a sitter day and overnight, will not turn in for over 2 years his discovery information, both of which we have as for contempt on each issue twice, just sends out this letter that he does not police the lawyers and still does not order the lawyers to do the right thing.
Appears to not even be listening when you are in the chambers, according to my ex he said he and his lawyer are allowed to contact Judge LaPorte when ever they want, this also appears to be true. I think he should be require to retire or only handle cases that do not effect children and familes, if these cases were his family would he not expect the courts to be fair and make sure the judge has all that is needed for them to be able to make a good and fair decision.

This judge was senile when he took the Bench and has only grown worse with age - he should have been removed years ago for his lack of competence - I too have had an ex in contempt for years that he refuses to take any action against.

It's time for this judge to retire. My ex-wife has shown contempt for the courts rulings for the past year. After Judge Wells finally had enough and was "firm" with her, she cried foul and successfully had him remove himself from the case. We were transferred to Judge LaPorte . (I have not seen my 4 daughters for 6 years and after Judge Wells ordered us to move forward with visitation last year, she then accused me of abuse. She has poisoned my children to do the same.) I was ordered to see my children in March - the order was ignored. Finally, a very frustrated Judge Wells ordered me to see my children the next Saturday. A 7 hour trip up and my 1st meeting with my children lasted 7 minutes with the children "acting out". Today's telephone hearing with Judge LaPorte and he just orders me to travel up there again for more. No reprimand or warning to my ex-wife not to sabotage my visits, nothing. He is cold and old. Time for this man to retire.
