What others have said about Hon. Jose R. Rodriguez

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: FL6300
Judge Rodriguez feels it appropriate to berate litigants without need or cause, with comments designed to shame or hurt a party and not to discuss relevant matters or deal with improper courtroom behavior. He tends to argue points not even addressed by the lawyers, which to me makes him an advocate not a judge. His general demeanor is demeaning and oppressive. More than once I've found him willing to deny a litigant due process by ruling on issues not set for hearing or otherwise refusong to allow a fair opportunity to be heard.

Criminal Defense Lawyer

Comment #: FL4044
A judge that has slid by all these years. Why he never made it to the 5th Circuit.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: FL1719
good judge who has read the pleadings or motions before the hearing; allows both sides to make their case; listens to what they have to say, and asks pertinent questions
