Civil Litigation - Private

Rating:2.7
Comments:
I practice throughout the state, and she is one of the worst judges I have encountered. Rules on a case and then order never hits the docket. I hate having to deal with Orange County for this reason.

I have been in Judge Thorpe's courtroom for over one year. Her reckless abandonment and non-application of the law, case law, and evidence are more than appalling. The probate and guardianship court is biased, loaded with cronyism.
she is a judge that needs to be retired and gone. Her first priority is to uphold the law and its subdivisions. She has to make decisions that affect multiple layers of lives.
Probate court is the "secret" court of the land. They operate in the dark.
Other offenders in this court are David Yergey of Yergey and Yergey P.A.
Renee Peppy of Kirson Fuller in Winter Park, and Amy O'Rourke of the Cameron group, Phil Bonus of the Bonus Law firm
and the most covert, Shuffield Lowman.
These people are slick, interconnected and operate outside the law

In on some manner of scheme(s) with my hostile out-of-state relatives and their attornies, as far as I can tell.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: FL4783
Rating:1.0
Comments:
She does not understand basic civil procedure such as how to interpret rules and what courts she is required to follow. She also does not appear to read records and rules off the cuff.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: FL4132
Rating:5.9
Comments:
She's unnecessarily rude to all parties.

It seems as if she doesn't recall that she's there to serve the parties, professionally.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: FL1120
Rating:9.8
Comments:
What a relief to have a smart judge with good problem solving skills. Decisive, fair, practical, she takes no guff, and moves her cases along.

Criminal Defense Lawyer

Comment #: FL897
Rating:3.8
Comments:
A perfect example of why a lawyer who never operated in the courtroom should never be appointed to the bench. She is biased in favor of business defendants, and does not understand litigation.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: FL5
Rating:2.1
Comments:
She is a very bad judge. She is not impartial. She is rude to litigants and lawyers. She is incompetent. Her incompetence, blatant unfairness and partiality are a danger to justice in Orange County. Moral of the story: her prejudice is used to intentionally and unfairly affect the result of a case.
