I found Judge Diana Lewis to be rude, biased and completely out of her depth on the bench.

Dethroning this queen judge should be a top priority by all the voters of Corruption County. She's just another Handler case fixer for just like Kathleen Kroll.

Comments:
I will agree that Judge Lewis has an intemperate disposition and can be more than a little caustic in her remarks to attorneys and litigants alike. I will also agree that she tends to favor the party that is more prepared. That said, I found her to be fair in her ruling and knowledgeable of statutes and governing case law. If you think you are going to get by on your charm and good looks before this jurist, you have another think coming. Be honest, be prepared, be on point and above all, don’t try to blow any smoke up the wazoo of this judge and you will do just fine.

I tried a complex healthcare contract case in front of Judge Lewis and lost. Both lawyers were from Miami amd I thought she was fair to both of us. While she seems to take pleasure in yelling at you if you are not prepared, she is fair about it so I never took it personally. She controlled the courtroom, as a good judge should. I would have no issue with being in front of her again.

Comments:
It is my opinion that this person is not suited to be a judge. She is not able to handle the responsibilities of the bench without bringing her personal agenda into the trial. What is unfortunate is that Judge Lewis appears to have a set of favorite attorneys. Some of those attorneys are plaintiffs' attorneys and many others are defense attorneys. Regardless, they feel that she is an unbiased and wonderful judge. They would like to keep her right where she is, because it gives them an upper hand in her courtroom. It is because of this that Judge Lewis should resign or be replaced. We have felt both sides of this personality. When we had a trial in her court against an attorney she liked less than our firm we had a generally fair trial. When we faced one of her friends, we faced a hostile court and it affected everyone, including the jury.

This has to be one of the rudest, most unprofessional judges that I have encountered in my years of practicing law. It is a shame that judges like this are allowed on the bench. She is completely defense-oriented, which is apparent in her rulings.

Judge Lewis expects preparedness and that attorneys be candid with the court. She's a real asset to the judiciary in Palm Beach County.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comments:
In my experience, Judge Lewis is fair, very professional, extremely astute, and almost always makes the right decision. But of course, there is almost certainly going to be a disgruntled party no matter how she decides.

Comments:
This person does not deserve to be on the bench. She is neither even-handed nor fair. She favors the defendant in civil litigation. It appears that she can not overcome her history as a defense attorney. Furthermore, she plays favorites with a few select plaintiffs' attorneys who support her by saying that they are somehow more prepared then other attorneys. This is simply untrue. Diana Lewis is simply a poor quality judge.

Although Judge Lewis seems to work hard, her judicial temperament is lacking. She appears to favor defendants on a regular basis.

Let's be objective here. Is there another judge in our circuit who grasps the issues that confront trial lawyers on a daily basis better than Judge Lewis? Perhaps Judge Crow? For those who believe she leans one way or another, I can honestly say from personal observations during trial and motion practice that she leans toward the side who is actually prepared and has support for positions and arguments. What judge wouldn't? As long as you are prepared, respectful of the opposition and the Court, you won't have any difficulty and will actually enjoy the practice of law in front of Judge Lewis.
