I argued a motion to suppress before Judge Bailey. I found him to be accomodating, respectful, and willing to listen to both sides. I did, however, find him a bit lacking in evidentiary matters and recent law, and I disagree with the basis for his rulings. I got the impression that he doesn't hear too much argument on motions to suppress. My client wound up taking a plea in this case, and the judge added some community service hours to the plea initially offered by the state. Overall, I feel that he listened to what I had to say and tried to do the right thing.

He pays 100% active attention to both sides. He is open to alternative sentencings, and he is great with allowing full discovery to be made, but at trial, he is more inclined towards the state. He reads the law and takes an interest in its challenges.
