Good riddance. She is retiring just in time before the world sees how she has violated many litigants' due process rights. Nelson comes in on 5 minute hearings for other judges to make vital and life-changing decisions on cases with fatal (yes fatal) outcomes. The judge assigned to the case does not want to make that fatal decision, so the bounty "quicker picker upper" judge, makes this decision and steps away from the case. Five minutes, and your life is ruined, while you can't blame the assigned judge because he/she did not make the decision. The decision was made by a judge who knows nothing about your case and that is the perfect crime which goes undetected. JQC, you should be ashamed of yourself when you know this, and you know what the 18th has been doing to litigants for decades. We want more early retirements coming out of the 18th.

I don’t believe that I will ever have the opportunity to stand in front of a judge more checked out than Nelson. She was did not read or review documents when asked to by the attorneys. She admitted that an additional day would need to be scheduled to hear the entirety of the case and since she was changing to a separate court she never scheduled that day and made a ruling that directly endangered a child. She relied heavily on here-say without evidence to come to her ruling and was so irritated by the lawyers that she handed out a status-quo hearing on a case that had been filed for over two years. Nelson made me lose faith in the judicial system and it’s findings.

She takes extreme dislikes to litigants and attorneys alike. She rules purely from her personal opinion, with no regard at all for the facts or the law. She holds grudges, against both litigants and attorneys. This woman needs to be removed from the bench.
