Comments:
Over 40, I have tries over 200 cases to verdict. Recently tried and HOA case with Judge Winesett. She was excellent: Thorough, evenhanded, pleasant, carefully researched rulings and fair. She is one of the top 5 trial judges I have been before.

Comments:
Judge Winesett could very possibly be the most inept individual I have ever met. I am currently the plaintiff in a case that has been before her for 7 years. The material facts in the case should have prevented litigation past 6 months; however, due to the incompetence of Judge Winesett, we are 7 years into litigation. Roughly 5 years ago, this judge ruled that she had jurisdiction over the matters at hand, and now she has decided to "reconsider." I could go on and on about the inconsistencies, improper rulings, and biases, but there are just too many.

Comments:
This judge does not operate with either efficiency or efficacy (or in good faith for that matter). Easily the worst judge that I have experienced in my nearly 20 years in civil litigation.

You will never find a more inept or biased judge.
You can't train one like this, they have to be born this way

Comments:
Judge Winesett is biased and prejudges a case before she hears it. Several times during trial she referred to
evidence that she previously ruled inadmissible, then overruled when objection was made. She is up for reelection in 2012 and needs to be voted out. We need judges that actually know the law and know their place in the courtroom.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: FL1332
Rating:4.1
Comments:
Judge Winesett seems to take an adversarial role against attorneys that appear in front of her. She will routinely badger attorneys when they present her with a stipulation to which all parties agree and then argue with the attorneys as if she were an advocate (but for whom is the question). She is the precise reason why attorneys who have never litigated should stay off the bench.

Comments:
Initially, I was impressed with the hours Judge Winesett works. However, I found her biased and inconsistent in her rulings. At one point during a lengthy trial I had to suggest that the judge permit the other side to argue their own case because she continuously raised issues and arguments that they did not, thereby injecting herself into the case as a litigant - and it was apparent that she did not understand the law. I hope to never have to try another case in front of this judge.
