I had him 20 years ago he was awful then and obviously is even worse if that is possible. He knows the law but chooses to side with the corporate side and huge law firms but that's where the contributions come from. Little by little Dade County is sinking below sea level.

Comments:
Probably the most incompetent judge on the bench in Dade (although Veronica Diaz and Mavel Ruiz are coming on strong to take this title). What's so amusing, is he actually reads things from time to time and just doesn't know the law and gets it wrong in all kinds of ways. Frustrating because his inability to follow the law makes cases longer and expensive. Whoever is giving him all these positive reviews must be some tobacco plaintiff lawyer.

He needs to leave the bench.

While i previously did agree with the past positive reviews for this judge, that unfortunately is no longer the case. In the past few years, this judge has spiraled down to the level of utter incompetence and ineptitude. Sad. It's time to leave the bench and for good.

[Redacted by Ed.] He is not fair. He is easily swayed by the Plaintiff. He is very biased, moody and inconsistent. Don't think about a Court of Equity when you stand before him.

Comments:
Judge Miller is a disgrace, and his complete disregard for due process ruined my faith in the legal system in my early days as civil litigator. He is completely biased against defendants and ended up costing my client millions in excess defense costs having to appeal a ruling he made on a motion that was not before the court, not briefed, and not based on any evidence before the court. It is people like him that give lawyers and the legal system a bad name.

HORRIBLE. Does not deserve the title of "judge." Never reads anything, zero knowledge of the law. Just pushes his docket along. Disgrace.

One of the most professional and fairest judges I've ever known. As a litigant, this judge treats everyone, jurors, lawyers, and litigants with dignity and respect. His experience is obvious in the way he handles his courtroom and in his rulings.

I was involved in two cases before Judge Miller in a three year period. Judge Miller was my judge in a civil real estate matter and a paternity case. I found that he always listened and gave very reasoned, thoughtful opinions on every motion presented in those cases. In my paternity case he pressed the reset button on the prior terrible decisions of the prior judge (Judge Firtel) who retired ... and ultimately enforced the Florida Statutes which presume the equality of both parents and shared parenting, much to the chagrin of my ex who love the prior judge's decisions in her favor. This is a judge that has had real world experience and brings it to the bench.

Judge Miller has got to be the most unprofessional, biased, arrogant judge I have ever experienced. He presided over my alimony reduction case and in court he was horrible.

To begin with my court time started late (about 30 min.) due to the fact that the previous case was running late as there was a lot of arguing back and forth with the lawyer from the previous case. He had here in tears.....This cost me about $1,000 in legal fees.

During my court case/time he clearly was favorable to his lady lawyer friend Robin Buckner. Everytime my lawyer tried to say something, Ms. Buckner interrupted out of turn and he let her do it over and over.

When it was my turn to speak he would cut me off. It was a total zoo. After it was all over, he made me pay my ex-wifes' legal fees of $55,000 plus other & my legal fees. I was a 58 year old male unemployed with a wife and 2 children and my ex was single. He did not reduce my ex wife's alimony at all from $5,500 per month non deductible. I have gone thru all of my savings and my ex-wife only works a couple of days a week.

Judge Miller is a disgrace to the legal profession and its appalling how judges like him are presiding over cases that have significant impact on people's lives.

This judge has inappropriate contact with juries at the jury pool in Miami-Dade. The very same jurors he's chatting up in the morning might very well be selected to serve on his panels.

These posts by Padilla are absurd. Judge Miller works harder and is more thoughtful and fair than any judge on the bench, state or federal. Padilla is unqualified and can't cut it as a lawyer. He is just angry that Miller ruled against him in a case where he thought he was going to make a nice fee -- something he's never done.

Miller was the first guy to let jurors ask questions. He is smart and reasonable and doesn't hesitate to reconsider rulings when justified. I have won and lost in front of him and never felt I got anything less than a completely fair opportunity.

Great! I will contact Padilla. I would LOVE to be on his campaign committee and I have done this before! I would feel like Lebron James to see Miller defeated. I have worked on Presidential Campaigns!I write speeches, deliver speeches and I am above reproach and I can personally speak to the character of Miller ...he is an animal!

Judge David Miller is a very fair and professional Judge. Although I have not always been pleased with his decisions, what lawyer is always happy unless the ruling is for their side. Judge Millers Opponent, Padilla who Miller ruled against in a case last year is on a vendetta to try to destroy Miller because he is so distraught about last years ruling. Padilla's Flaming personal lifestyle is going to come out and embarass him as it gets closer to the election. His Facebook pics with the sweet butterflies are already floating around. We can expect Padilla is spending sleepless nigts on these and other blogs trying to do damage as he can't match the funding Miller has accumulated.

He makes up his own motions and rules himself.. At time he makes ups motions & immediately rules for the otherside without any pleadings based on his personal feeling without evidentiary hearingor otherwise. He suffers from migraines and turns the a/c to 65 deg and if you don;t like it he tells you to leave. Additionally he will rule on a motion without giving you an opportunity to argue youf own motion. He has a wicked temper, carries a gun strpped to his ankle and has even attacked female judges pHYSICALLY. He needs mental help

Obviously, the opponent whom Judge Miller has drawn in the August 2012 election, an unhappy attorney from one of Judge Miller's trials, has found the Robing Room. Do not let this poster's (6/26/12) comments color your opinion about Judge Miller. You will not find a less-biased, less politically motivated judge, whose intelligence is matched only by a handful of other Dade County judges.

Can't say enough positive things about this judge. The complete package. Best trait, among so many others, is that he's entirely apolitical. Not afraid to make the hard or unpopular decisions. Doesn't march to anyone else's beat or push any agenda. We need more like him.
