Overall, he treated me fairly, which says a lot for a Miami-Dade judge. He doesn't seem to be influenced by the Miami-Dade bar.

Comments:
This judge is the absolute worst. He should not sit on any foreclosure bench. He has a law of his own. He violates so many laws. He makes decisions based on his friendship with the attorneys who sit in his court room all morning on behalf of the Plaintiff. They are his extended staff. He allows the Plaintiff's attorneys to show proof of record and introduce evidence through their cell phone emails and he renders decisions based on this even when challenged. He is very arrogant and over the top. He is only concerned with how long it will take him to get through his calendar so he smoke a cigar in front of the courthouse. He doesn't serve the public well at all. Very self serving.

This guy is a former state farm property subro attorney. He never tried a jury trial in his life. He could not make a living in private practice. He is short, bald, extremely rude and arrogant. He enjoys going across the street sitting outside a restaurant smoking his big cigars, in his cuban shirt and lusting after the ladies who pass by. He is one, if not the worst on the bench. Often very ate and offers no apologize. His staff follows his lead and are not cooperative and as standoffish as can be. Avoid this clown at all costs

This judge is arrogant. This judge has ruled in favor of a party as if he was bought off by the law firm representing that party.

I like his bravado, but he is a horrible judge. He really is! He needs a humbling experience to remind j=him of the role of a judge. He may be politically connected but he is not a good judge at all. He has a short man complex. I don't know who the administrative judge is but he/she needs to rotate judges.

I sat in court while this Judge dismissed every Defendant's Motions that were valid and emotional pleas. Miami Dade Circuit Court went against complete sound judgement when they created the 3rd floor room. Having the same Judge Jose Rodriguez rubbing elbows with the same Attorney's day in and day out that represent the banks. I literally sat there and watch during recess break how he conducted himself with these Attorney's regarding after work plans and even being flirtatious with a female Plaintiff's Attorney. The level of misconduct was incomprehensable. I will continue to follow this Judge because I am sure that more stories will come out when all is said and done and I want to be one of the first swearing under oath of his biased cronism.

Who the hell do you think you are Jose M. Rodriguez?? How dear you go and dismiss a 63 year-old woman's Bankruptcy Case after how hard she has fought to keep her home. You don't give a fuck about nobody but yourself. You don't deserve to be a Judge in the State of Flordia, you selfish bastard!!

Run.

Comments:
Impatient. Sought to set aside a judgment. Judge Rodriguez was required to hold an evidentiary hearing, but refused to do so. Since he was switching divisions he asked my client if he wanted to wait for the returning judge and try again or take his chances with him.

In the end the case had to be appealed.

Judge Rodriguez, quoted the law. Acknowledged what the proper law was and then ruled against the standing case law because it wasn't how it was done in the old days. He's short and discourteous.

Comments:
A very qualified judge who moves cases along and makes good, fair and quick decisions. This judge is a political creature and has strong ties to the community. That can often be mistaken for cronyism or arrogance. Nevertheless, in my experience, he will hear you out and judge a case on the merits.

Judge Rodriguez is more susceptible to influence by his cronies than just about anyone on the bench. And he's tendentious and arrogant to boot.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: FL974
Rating:8.1
Comments:
I have been before Judge Rodriguez on several different matters. In each case, he is prepared for the hearing and is willing to make a decision, which is more than one can say for some judges. He gets it right and moves his cases along. Not sure where the other comments come from unless they are disgruntled litigants. Judge Rodriguez is a positive presence at the courthouse.

Comments:
The scores speak for themselves. Although this judge appears to be an affable gentleman, he does not manage his courtroom with the efficiency or decorum of many of his peers on the bench. Oftentimes short and discourteous. Frequently tardy. You will find yourself faced with incorrect/inequitable rulings in his division as frequently as any other judge on the Dade Circuit Bench.

Judge Rodriguez spends more time outside smoking cigars than in court. He takes four-hour lunches. He is biased, arrogant and lazy.
