i had to deal with him with a child custody battle. This judge pulls for the men and does not give women time to talk. He was very rude and condecending and just assumes the women are emotional and out to get men, terrible judge. Unprofessional and does not listen to any facts. I have no idea how this man has been granted to work in family court. very disappointed.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: FL3736
This judge does not take the time to read notes prior to the case. He makes very hasty decisions and does not give you any chance to speak your case. Very disappointed in the judicial system and his lack of concern.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: FL3426
I really like this judge a lot and hope he enjoys a long tenure on the bench. We need more judges like Judge Diaz. He is bright, hard-working and has a terrific judicial temperament.

Comment #: FL3219
Judge Diaz presided over a contentious divorce and child support case, and handled the situation in an even-handed manner. During hearings, his professional demeanor, incisive questions and ability to recall minor details from months before were impressive.

Criminal Defense Lawyer

Comment #: FL2663
Judge Diaz was a well regarded criminal defense attorney before taking the bench. As a judge in the criminal division he brought a warmth and sense of purpose to his courtroom that was refreshing. Never afraid to make a ruling but always with dignity and respect for the lawyers and for the defendants or victims. Not afraid to sentence severally if the case mandated such a ruling. Was always on time and always was generous in setting hearings on short notice. Now on the civil bench, he is already missed on the criminal bench.
