To FL 2978. Your description of Judge Sarduy is laughable. You admit he is tarty, joking that he needs a watch. You says he has a great sense of humor--which in my opinion does not belong in the courtroom. People's lives are not a joking matter. If you call joking with his staff and showing them cell phone pictures during trials and hearings, then I guess he has a good relationship with his staff (all 2 of them). If he really cared about the children's lives that he controls, he would do more of an investigation to see exactly which parent is telling the truth and investigate their living conditions before shooting from the hip with his snap, uneducated decisions. He would judge on facts (and listen to them) rather than going with the pretty face!

Wonderful Judge, a bit quirky but fair, just and great sense of humor. He needs a new watch, but in fairness he made up the time for us to have our full time allotted. Knows the law, and cares for children issues. He belongs in the Family Division! He is very interested in maintaining continuity for children. Great relationship with his Staff and respects them as well.. It will be a sad day when/if he ever leaves the family division.

There had to be at least one "CONTRIBUTOR" that received fair and professional treatment from this Judge. Perhaps the rest of us out here should all get OUR cases Co-represented by YOU for basic, courtesy, fairness and professionalism before this individual. Congratulations !!! He will not be up for re-election until 2016--however, a complaint to the Supreme Court is definitely in order. I could care less about his personal life, but his disrespect and ignorance in the courtroom is unforgiveable!!!!

ignominious, disreputable excuse for a judge. Someone has given this poor excuse for a judge the control over people's lives. Ruins all our lives yet has a girlfriend that can be his daughter. He is a disgrace to us men and a disgrace to the judicial system. Im sure what day he will get his own with his kid girlfriend!If any of you figure out how we can make sure he is not relected please advise so I can help get him off the bench!

The Bailiff's name is "Cesar" and YES what Commentor No. 2780 wrote is absolutely true. The bailiff is worse than Cindy on the Brady Bunch Show. An immature and whiny little weasle of a person. This man is grossly biased towards men. He is Draconian and a tyrant. I personally witness h aim return s 12 year old runaway girl to her father, who not only admitted, nut bragged, under oath about being a pedophile in 2 separate court proceedings. Don't speak in front of his bailiff outside the courtroom because bits & pieces are relayed to this judge, which hearsay will be illegally held against you. By the same token, believe NOTHING the bailiff says outside court because he lies. I know this first hand.

Got kicked out of Juvenile Court because Administrative Judge Prescott couldn't handle his laziness and ineptitude. Numerous complaints. Even though the staff generally like him, they can't make up enough excuses for his non-professional conduct.

To comment L2682--are you denying that Judge Sarduy jokes with his staff, texts, and shows his bailiff things on his cell phone during court and ignores the testimony being presented??? The attorneys and parties who appear in court are not allowed to use their cell phones during court and he should not either. He needs to pay attention and maybe so many people wouldn't be unhappy with his unfair and biased rulings. He might make the right one sometimes if he actually listened to the testimony. I could care less about his personal life, but he needs to take his job more seriously.

A Judge should know law not go by personal experience. Nobody is being judgmental they are facts. His personal life???? That is a joke! I find it amazing how all of you take the time to sit here and bash Judge Sarduy because you might not have liked the ruling on your case. If someone writes something nice you automatically assume he is trying to date them. By your comments I can see you dont know Judge Sarduy. If you did you would not be saying any of the things you are. Everyone is entitled to make mistakes in their personal lives. He takes his job serious and is a very caring, loving individual. I had the absolute Pleasure of being infront of Judge Sarduy. After reading all of the commentary listed below, I simply can not believe any of it. I guess they are just bitter, that the law didnt favor their case. I personally did not come out victorious. However, at the time, I didnt comprehend where he ruled from, but after the hearing I went online and did my research on my particular case style and I accepted the ruling. He took the time to make sure I fully understood the ruling and repeatedly asked if I had any other questions. He allowed me time to ask any questions. By far the most sincere man I have ever encountered. His court staff, while goofy and playful, were very respectful and courteous. I say totally disregard the comments below and come into his courtroom at ease as he is not biased towards men, or aloof or dozing off. Judge Sarduy, If you should be reading this... While I wanted you to rule in my favor, i now understand why you couldnt. I appreciate your demeanor and kind words. I totally respect you.

This "JUDGE" is a FARCE. I was preparing to list ALL of the reasons that this individual disgraces the bench with his arrogance, ineptitude, bias and bravado. However, many have done much of that here already. This man is not merely ignorant of Florida Family Laws per se but, he also insults the intelligence and experience of the practioners before him as he makes up and applies his own "law" along the way. I was present recently while this "judge" completely disregarded and turned a deaf ear to an attorney's argumnets while he incessantly texted from the bench. On other ocassions, this "judge" has telegraphed his biases by refusing to hear a female litigant's argument(s) when it was the only legally sufficient, well-founded and substantiated argument being presented. As if this were not enough, I have witnessed this so called "arbitor of fact" introduce or otherwise inject anecdotes and comparisons relating to HIS OWN recent divorce into several evidentiary hearings being presented before him. Not enough you say? .... This "judge" has even inappropriately referred to a male litigant as "this poor man" in open court and on the record without so much as hearing or considering a single speck of evidence or a syllable of testimony in the matter presented. Quite frankly, he actually used to have some scuples and spine when he was a lowly court clerk at the Metro Justice building in the early eighties. Now, he is just a bitter and soured man who happens to have the robe and the power to disregard the sign above his head and, simply side with the element of Testosterone every time. This man is making unfair rulings and determinations on people's lives on a daily basis. His cynicism and derision should not continue to go unchecked. If you have been wronged by this judge's bias and misfeasance, then do your part as I have done and file a complaint with Florida Judicial Oversight Committee and/or the Florida Supreme Court.

George Sarduy if you ever read these comments, TRY to remember that you're up there to do what is right, not to even up a score.

He gets in trouble because he's so easy-going & "regular" in his courtroom manner rather than being superior & dictatorial like so many others. His "of the people" demeanor allows for fearless criticism over adverse rulings. It also can mask his true intellect & concern for basic principles such as relocation drives a wedge through parent-child relationships. There is no obvious partiality with this judge. 2 out of 3 cases in which I was involved he sided with mom, and he was correct in all 3 rulings although not all rulings favored my client. He has NEVER disrespected a lawyer in my presence & only has called litigants on the carpet when they get out of line. We need to trust more judges like him to do this job so the world would be a more logical place. Judge Sarduy just needs to trust himself to do the job he has a knack for. Oh, and don't let windbags talk for an hour on motion calendar after he's already ruled - that's lawyers taking advantage of one of the few nice judges with a big heart!

I have worked in Family Law for over 25 years and, with the sole exception of Judge Cindy Lederman, I have never seen a more outrageous judge. He IS biased towards fathers. He makes decisions and rulings based on hearsay. He doesn't read the filings in his cases. His courtroom behavior and demeanor are astonishing. He has never been to law school, rather holds a Bachelors in Criminology. What he is doing on a Family Court bench is so far beyond me.. The judiciary is very hard up for anyone to work in the Family Division because of a multitude of deaths and transfers of judges that they have resorted to this person who couldn't practice in front of a bench. Complaints should be forwarded to the Florida Judicial Oversight Committee. Right after mine.

This man needs to go back to some other area of the law! He was totally inept and clueless on family dynamics! He totally disrespected our entire team including our daughter, her siblings, our expert witnesses as well as my husband and myself! A recently divorced judge with no children and experience only in juvenile court has no business over-ruling the decision of the Honorable Judge Fiero! Sarduy was far too busy texting, emailing and dozing off to even pay attention! Would have thought his order of Cuban coffee would have waked him enough to be alert to ruining lives and aligning himself with a guy suffering from NPD! He spent more time fraternizing with his cohorts and employees than listening! BTW We ARE filing a complaint against him as well as his friend Dr. Firpy!

Sarduy is a great judge in many ways. He cares, and he will always make the time to hear a case. But in response to the comments being posted.... try being one of the attractive female attorneys who appear in front of him. If you flirt back with him or say yes to one of his "lunch invites," you cross a line and raise eyebrows among your fellow bar members. But if you say no, you risk repercussions or a decision being made against your client. It's easy for you all to call his behavior unprofessional. I call it sexual harassment.

Most arrogant, inept judge on the bench. Never prepared, always late. Texts during court, flirts with the any pretty girl in his courtroom. And completely WRONG about the law in way too many situations to cite here. The Adminstrative Judge needs to send someone into his courtroom to witness his COMPLETELY bipolar behavior and antics. Review his rulings, talk to his staff and bailiffs. There is not a noble, unbiased, 'respect for the law and our legal process' bone in his body. He should be sitting on a bench in traffic court, not ruling to affect these people's lives.

Judge Sarduy needs to pay attention to his cases and stop playing and joking around with his bailiff, court reporter, or pretty girls in the courtroom. His carrying on and ruling without the facts is totally unacceptable. Two cases have been reported in the last month where he did this. I think it is time for the Administrative Judge to have a talk with this Judge or perhaps all of the people he has done this to should file complaints with the Bar and Supreme Court! At the very least he should recuse himself from these cases and his rulings should be set aside. His cases should be reheard by a fair and impartial judge.

This Judge is not ruling based on facts, but rather based on his mood or based on how he's going to look in the eyes of a 25yo bimbo law intern sitting next to him during the hearing.
He was not listening to the case, but was flirting and whispering back and forth with the pretty intern and showing her his phone pictures.

This Judge is obviously biased and does not make fair and impartial rulings. He bases his decisions on his past experiences and not on fact. He recently verbally attacked handicapped father for simply taking off his glasses during court and staring. I guess he just didn't like his appearance. Judge Sarduy needs to step back and take a long look at his habit of makin snap decisions based on appearance rather than hearing the case out and weighing the evidence.

Very nice, has a great temperament, but he's always late! Needs to speed up his calendars. They are so slow - simple matters take forever. He needs to read the law - he makes rulings from his emotions and not the law. Hopefully he will develop into a good judge. He is new.
