john simon is a career state employee who worked at the state attorney's office and wanted to make more money by moving into the judicial side since his career was limited. as working in the state, he's never been in the real world and has little sense of reality. i unfortunately got stuck with him for part of my divorce because the magistrate recused herself due to an appeal she lost horribly and was scolded by the appellate court. the appellate court gave specific instructions to the court, in which john simon ignored and still carried on the divorce in spite of their instructions. his attitude is he cannot be told anything and is not to be corrected. however, if you don't obey his every word, he punishes you and chastises you every hearing going forward. however, its a double standard. he has no respect for the higher courts above him. he is temperamental and has anger fits in hearings and openly mocks one side. as others have said, he has relationships with some attorneys that are unprofessional in the amount of bias he shows them while being disrespectful of other attorneys. in his court room, the truth, justice and the laws do not matter. everything is based upon his inflated and dangerous ego. pray that you never have to sit before him. if you do, be prepared in advance to file an appeal when you find out how he acts.

This judge sends off signals of being bias. When a female comes into his courtroom they're putting themselves in a vulnerable position to face their attacker. A disgusting part of his character shows as the victim is mocked while in tears during the complete testimony. The narsassistic attacker is able to fool him into not only believing they were the victim but also getting him to commend them on their lies and behaviors ultimately FAILING the victim.
Not only is this judge overseeing DV cases but then may be assigned to the same individuals in a DR or other case.

Totally unprofessional. What should of taken 3 months for an uncontested adoption this judge has made go on for 11 months. 10 minutes before the finally hearing he wanted another signed paper stating that the one parent was ok with the adoption. This was done months ago, but now wants it again.

Judge Simon seems to only care about the control in the court room. He doesn’t seem to care much about the truth or doing what’s right for all parties involved. He’s cruel and an awful human being. He deserves to sit behind bars for single handedly destroying people’s lives with no concern to their well being.

Sadly I thought highly of this judge until i saw the truth. justice is not the main agenda at all.

I had the most akward hearing that was entirely one sided and flipped around on me in ever way.

This judge doesnt seem to advocate for mothers and does come accroS quite incompassionate.

I was highly unimpressed with the court process and felt he applies law in the ways he finds conveinamt for him when he feels hes right.

I highly sugggest steering very clear of santa rosa county for amything, very backwoods mantality , mind games in the judicial system and they are all about extorting money from hard working people.

They also are terribke with womN and children.

Judge Simon appears to have a relationship with the attorney for the plaintiff in my case. The other attorney mentioned on several occasions that she did in fact have a very good relationship with Judge Simon and would never lose in his court. He did not seem to know and did not appear to follow the law in my situation.

Judge Simon takes the honor out of honorable. He holds no regard to the laws and statues he swore to uphold. I have the displeasure of seeing him destroy innocent people's lives daily. Not only does he not follow court procedures, prosecutors are freely allowed to break the Florida statues on perjury, admissible evidence and whatever else they decide to insure a convictions.you base outcomes on your personal opinion of what the law means and not what is written in black and white.
