Her bias was evident in this case. She repeatedly instructed the jury not to read her. She constantly overruled plaintiff's attorney giving more credence to her stance. She was a previous defense attorney involved with business litigation for her family's company. Keeps her courtroom at a hypothermic temperature making everyone uncomfortable and ready to hurry which the jury indeed did unfortunately.

Met her outside of work - could tell immediately she is a horrible person with an extremely self centered and not considerate personality. To find out she is a judge made my heart sink.

Favors men. Father abandoned his TEEN child for YEARS on end. Not even a text or phone call. Just a random visit once every 3 months. Upon testifying to this, the timesharing remains unchanged. 1st time, he lied in court and his word for word was written into orders, while mine (with evidence) was ignored completely. COX does not belong in family court!!! she holds grudges, said she didn't have time to read anything, and was even aggravated about the way something was filed. Im flabbergasted and if it weren't for me trying to protect my child, I would blow up the injustice all over tik tok for how very very wrong she did my family.

This judge barely pays attention during court proceedings. She will work on her computer while testimony is being given. She is rude and short tempered. In my experience she never had judgments ready when promised. She plays favorites and uses the bench to bully people. She absolutely favors men. With her judicial bias she should NOT be on the bench.

Judge Cox was so disrespectful, I had to file a Motion to Recuse, which was reviewed by her and denied. The Law in Indian River County is a joke.

In 2016 the State of Florida admitted in Judge Cox's court that the Indian River County Sheriff is trafficking narcotics, stealing people's homes and personal property, using the stolen homes as meth labs, and making false arrests of the homeowners to prevent them from interfering with the Sheriff's drug dealing. The State also admitted that the defendant was innocent and immune from prosecution. In contravention to law, Cox allowed the prosecution to continue, the defendant to be held in custody indefinitely, and the Sheriff to continue his criminal conduct. After 18 months without a trial, the case was dropped. Civil lawsuits are still in progress for injunctive relief against Cox, the Sheriff, the prosecutors, and others. The civil cases have been brought pursuant to 42 U.S. Code § 1983 because of [redacted] criminal violation of 18 U.S. Code §§ 242, 244-5. Cox [redacted] does not belong on the bench.

This judge refuses to acknowledge the wrong doings of men in most situations. She doesn't listen to what I have to say with out a sarcastic question or comment back. The other party has an extensive criminal background, including charges against children and she doesn't want to hear it. She has put false information in court orders and signed off and has destroyed my kids lives. I have proven over and over my case and yet I am always told I am lying. She rushes me through and doesn't pay any attention to the evidence. She has made it very clear that she had formed an opinion of me from what her magistrate had said about me and she (the magistrate) commended the other party for being an absent parent for 14 yrs so that the kids didn't see them drunk, instead of saying THEY SHOULD HAVE QUIT FOR THEIR KIDS(AND NEANWHILE RAISED 4 OTHER CHILDREN). Our case is a disgusting show of how much the court or this judge only cares about the money and not the children.

[Redacted by Ed.] I am a professional in the legal field, I am not not a party to a case in front of this judge, nor have I ever been. I am writing for the simple fact that in my 10+ years in the courtroom, I have never witnessed a judge display such a callous disregard for things like:
- The Law
- Basic Human Rights
- The Safety of defenseless minor children
- Case Precedent
- Common Sense
- Evidence Presented to Her
- And so much more... The list is endless

I don't know why she has been permitted to behave this way for so long without consequences. But make no mistake about it, her willingness to abuse the power of her position and place innocent, defenseless individuals in life threatening positions is absolutely terrifying. Until Judge Cynthia L. Cox is no longer on the bench, in an unimaginably powerful position, my faith in our judicial system is gone. [Redacted by Ed.] needs to be stripped of this position before anyone else's children are harmed the way I have witnessed in every single case I witnessed in front of her.

If you do have this judge, my best advice for you is to make sure you always have a court reporter in your hearings, no matter how insignificant the hearing may seem at the time... And to make sure you are very familiar with Florida's Code of Judicial Conduct and make sure you immediately report any clear violations as soon as possible after they occur. There are power in numbers and it is time for people to start demanding that they have the right to a fair trial with an ethical judge making decisions about your lives.

Again... There are power in numbers. This has to stop.

This judge has singlehandly destroyed our lives. When a parent is not involved, by choice for 14 yrs, they do not deserve 50/50. When they live 9 hours away, are a convicted felon, have charges for beating up kids, have 11 adults incl some unsafe for children, they do not deserve 50/50. When a 17 yr old refuses to put themselves in an unsafe and uncomfortable situation, it is not okay to threaten their primary caregiver with jail and loss of custody bc the other parent refused to assist in timesharing "exchanges of said teenager". This states laws are insane but the fact that a woman can sit up there and be so biased and favor a man who was a serious abuser, is beyond me... I am all for equal parenting when both parents deserve it. This woman is not made for family court.

My case was moved to Indian river county from Volusia County. I went to core for being behind of my child support. I have provided documentation that was uploaded to the court system and inform the judge that in the last three years my father has spent atleast 6 months or more each year in the hospital between ICU and PCU and then Has to be discharged to a skilled nursing facility for rehab. He requires 24 hour care my brother and our POA and he also has dementia. We are determined to keep him out of a nursing home. My ex-wife is well informed and she came out to visit with him and she’s all right with me being behind. The judge told me that obviously I’m unable to take care of my father and I should put him in a nursing home or take him to court and get legal guardianship so I could have control if his finances. Dept of Revenue said since you can pay his bills why don’t you just send yourself $5000 out of his account without him knowing which is illegal it be considered stealing. So I have a judge telling me to put my father in a nursing home take him to court so I can get all his money and pay my child support and I have the department of revenue telling me just go in there and take it without him knowing she threatened me with jail time and this is when my ex-wife agrees and is completely fine with the situation in my sons turning 18 in 4mths. She placed me on mute and treated as if I was a degenerate. She has no place on the bench.

Judge Cox has been my family court judge for 3 years now. I have lost ALL of my faith and confidence in our legal system after what this judge has done to me and my son. She got my case very wrong and made a horrible decision that caused my son to be put in a violent living situation with his mother and her violent boyfriend's. He was hurt and abused several times until I made the choice to defy her orders and go get him. Judge Cox then granted the mother her emergency pickup order despite all the evidence of abuse and the cops took him from me. Less then 24 hours later the cops removed my son from his mother's house because he again was hurt at his mother's house and put him back into my custody. Judge Cox blew a gasket and told the cops they should of left my son at the mother's house despite him being abused. My son now lives with me 100% of the time which is in direct violation of Judge Cox's orders. I am lucky to have survived Judge Cox and I am sure there are some who have not. My name is Ryan Holmes and I will telly story to anyone that will listen.

I'm nervous. We moved from another county for family court and Judge Cox is our judge. My ex's mommy is paying for him, I'm representing myself. I hope she is fair - anyone? Criminal law is very different than family. Anyone have family judge info?

Circuit Judge Judge Cynthia Cox is raising performance standards of family lawyers in Indian River County. She does not accept substandard work and insists that lawyers come to court prepared and that work be completed properly and on time. She takes her judicial responsibilities seriously. Although her imposing high standards and more accountability on lawyers definitely causes angst, her focus tends to create more meaningful results for families who look for final judgments which are clear and accurate. Her toughness results in a higher quality family bar and in supported decisions. A general practitioner lawyer would not be expected to bode well in her court without reviewing her own judicial procedures. While her style is sometimes confrontational, she is professional and courteous. One can argue with her respectfully. She is industrious, knowledgeable in applicable law, she reads her files and looks for details which many lawyers miss. Her additional questions of witnesses change expected results - sometimes positively. From her decisions in the Felony Division, she pays careful attention to testimony and displays courage when appropriate. She avoids chumminess with lawyers. Every lawyer who appears before her will learn something new from her. She is clearly making personal sacrifices on herself to perform her work diligently. Lawyers appearing before her should advise clients that this judge requires far more detail, and she is less predictable than other judges. Lawyers should be prepared to work. Those who call her biased may be wrong. I have no opinion here yet. These expectations definitely require greater time and effort to complete a case, and lawyers should not buy into their own client's wishful thinking that entry of a settlement means there is no more legal work to be done. She has an excellent JA, Havely White, who answers questions promptly and clearly. Judge Cox deserves to be evaluated fairly.

She was rude to the attorneys, especially the Public Defenders. While being read letters of reference by many people the accused knew and worked for and explaining that he needed help for his alcohol addiction, not excessive time in incarceration, she kept rolling her eyes. She gave her sentence immediately afterward showing she had made up her mind before the trial even began. I didn't see anything honorable about her.

She is a complete loser who takes sides with liars, and the father of lies. She trumped up a charge against me after a year and a half, which was dropped by State's Attorney David Dodd. She asked -- and this is no joke -- why "we" should not give me 12 months in jail. Well, it will be a joke when RICO comes to town -- a federal suit is waiting to be served. She is one among many who have the "black robe disease." The abuse of power is rampant among the American judiciary.
