Comments:
My beef with Judge Bowman, seemingly shared by others, is his antiquated manner to handle matters that most other Judges handle in a more efficient manner using technology. He is one of a very handful of judges who still demand physical documents are mailed to his office when they could easily be submitted via CourtMap as most modern day courts do. I just don't understand such an approach that is not only adverse to the environment requiring use of paper where electronic documents could be used. I think such judges should either modernize or step aside because enforcing obsolescence is not a way forward.

He makes arguments for the Plaintiff, that the Plaintiff doesn't even make. Ignores precedent

I have never seen any judicial scholarship from this judge that was his own work. There are some judges who take their work in chambers to heart. Other judges don't like doing their own work and rely on the attorneys before them to prepare rulings and submit them.

He can play his cards close to the vest. He is courteous and respectful to the parties and their counsel but my impression is his mind is often wandering elsewhere at times.

In pretrial matters he's pretty much decisive so either you walk away with relief or not. Few cut the babies in half stuff. That said, I still feel like something is missing with him at times.

Getting a special set hearing in front of him can be tough sometimes. Other than that I can't say anything good or bad, he is lackluster but nowhere near the worst I've seen.
