What others have said about Hon. Barbara W. Bronis

Comment #: FL4496
Judge Bronis makes a decision before any words are spoken at trial! She chose to make a "long term" custody decision when a child was 19 months old and would be seperated from its mother for the next 17.5 years. She allowed one party to monopolize the trial (1.5 days) time leaving only 2 hours for other side to respond. She was more interested in ending the trial at the designated time than hearing the "other side" - even thought the life of a child was at stake. She accepted people as expert witnesses and then completely dismissed their testimony in her Final Judgement, even using it to "hurt" the party that brought in the expert witness. She has no business deciding childrens lives as she does not listen or act in their best interest.

Comment #: FL3766
Judge Bronis is the most unfair and pro female activist judge I have seen hold a bench. The Chief Justice should immediately remove her from family court.

Bronis is a "Bringer of Destruction" to families. She is sure to have her position within the family courts firmly established as that is the purpose of the family courts--destruction.

Judge Bronis rules on facts and material evidence, despite the political climate. In my case she found for the petitioner. She seemed very even-tempered and empathetic. She is very good at time management. If I were a lawyer in front of Bronis, I wouldn't tap dance too much, because she has no patience for wasting time on a trial with a set end. Expert witnesses especially draw her attention and careful criticism. She has no trouble examining expert witnesses for pseudoscience and unfounded opinions. She does take a while with regard to her decisions, but she does take extremely detailed notes that are apparent and specifically mentioned in her judgements. Her judgements seem ironclad. She takes the Tate statute and lists what evidence applies to the decision point by point. All in all, an excellent judge.

Comment #: FL2821
Despite testimony which revealed marital assets depleted and reckless spending of them the judge took a non chalant attitude to the revelation and just looked at the ability of the "man" to pay even after testimony of the petitioner that her expenses were totally false. No questions to the petitioner Totally gender biased for the woman, next case!,,

Practicing in her courtroom is like practicing in your grandma's kitchen. Her demeanor is excellent and she has a fairly decent grasp of the law. Procedurally, she really doesn't care what the rules are and tends to do what she wants to do regardless of the rules. She will let you argue your case but once she has ruled, it's over. Probably my most stringent criticism of her is that her courtroom tends to be somewhat of a do-nothing courtroom. It is very difficult to obtain a ruling out of her until the bitter end. Forget about temporary relief or emergency motions, they will not be heard unless someone is cutting their kid's head off. She also tends to be somewhat of a "split the baby judge." Overall, she appears to be afraid to make a decision until she is absolutely forced into it. Trial wise, she runs a decent trial and for the most part lets you present your case.
