In brief: his actions do not match the title (Honorary). Where is the Honor?:(

As a Chief judge not in good control of the courthouse. Acts out of fear and trained obedience, not willing to support justice, fairness, and end social discrimination, violations of Civil rights and freedoms (per US Constitution), playing sick legal games, lies, manipulations, bullying of good people. He is hiding behind his nice staff, not able to communicate, solve problems and reform justice to be fair. Status Quo under his unwise, stubborn lead is not in favor of justice. Please disbar to stop this abuse of power.

Comments:
He is liked by several attorneys because they support and cover up his weakness. In return he favors his supporters case. His opinion and verdicts are biased, and far from true justice. In spite of knowing the ugly site of his supporters, he chooses to keep quiet. Beware of what and who motivates his verdicts.

Comments:
Very disappointed, followed Judge Duncan but did not measure up to his predecessor. Home court bias, government attorney bias, out of county attorneys are not favored.
Is not proactive in managing cases (good if you want to play games). Does not differentiate between complex matters and simple cases in terms of discovery and scheduling.

Litigant

Comment #: IL380
Rating:Not Rated
Comments:
Popejoy is not so much pro-defendant or pro-plaintiff. Rather, he is strictly pro-attorney. But, he should not even be sitting on the bench, given the revelation of his indiscretion in a recent hit-and-run incident. Such things show us the true character of the man (or lack of it).

Comments:
An excellent Chancery Judge who can handle complex and diverse matters through the sheer effort to read and evaluate all materials. Stickler for local rules (page limitations). Fair and conscientious.
