Comments:
Excellent judge. Allows the attorneys to run their case and only intervenes when needed. Evenhanded in ruling with the goal of doing justice without merely truing to move a case off his docket. Always enjoy appearing before him, even when h rules against my position.

Comments:
The worst judge in Chancery. All the comments are correct - use your SOJ anytime you are before him. He prejudges a case and will rule accordingly, facts and law be damned.

Comments:
So liberal he ignores the facts to suit his political leanings. Facts do not matter to him.

HORRIBLE JUDGE! Doesn't listen to presented evidence. Over thinks the problem and can't spot criminal behavior because he's too dense.

Rating:4.0
Comments:
He is extremely rigid, to the point of failing to assist in dispensing justice. He simply does not have the acumen to be a judge.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: IL1738
Rating:1.0
Comments:
By far the least capable judge in the law division. Take a change as your first and only act before him. All the negatives any judge could have are rolled into one: he doesn't listen, doesn't read, doesn't understand the law. In the case I recently had before him he never once issued any kind of written opinion on any pretrial motion; never once took a matter under advisement to later give a reasoned decision and never once entertained the possibility of any briefing on any discovery motion. His judgments are knee-jerk and thoughtless, with little consideration/deliberation. I could go on....

Civil Litigation - Private

Rating:5.5
Comments:
This judge knows the law but doesn't enforce his orders or procedure. He let the other attorney get away with violating numerous orders, including numerous games with discovery and discovery violations and 4 motions to compel didn't matter. If the other side plays games expect them to get away with it. Pushover.

Comments:
This is incredibility bias and has a terrible temperament for the the bench. Please reference Oueid vs. Moore. This judge had almost the entire ruling overturned by the appellate court.

Other

Comment #: IL983
Rating:1.0
Comments:
Very bigoted judge. Ignores the facts and rules in favor of his pre-determined subjective opinions. Very liberal inclinations - political correctness is the rule in his court room. Doesn't understand complex cases. He should not be a judge.

Other

Comment #: IL513
Rating:1.0
Comments:
Was amazed at his lack of preparation and disregard for precedents that were submitted to him before the hearing. He had no grasp of the facts of the case even though it was over 2 years old and loads of paperwork had been generated. He attempted to intimidate 3 plaintiffs into settling by saying that a jury trial was going to be expensive.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: IL342
Rating:1.9
Comments:
This is a very poor judge. Don't let the gentle approach and personality disguise his bias. As the other poster noted he picks sides based on gender, race and so on. He should not be a judge, and it makes you wonder how he was appointed.

Comments:
This judge was in the family law division of Cook County before being transferred. While in family law, he lost control of his court room and allowed very unprofessional behavior by the attorneys in his court room. He repeatedly demonstrated a lack of understanding of the situations that families encounter. He was very pro female, very feminist oriented. He regularly ruled against the husbands / fathers in the cases in front of him. The facts did not make any difference, he cherry picked facts to suit his bias. He sits on the board of a feminist organization and allows his bias to show through in court.
