[Redacted by Ed.] this judge denied an Order Of Protection for a single mom with 3 children. The mother presented evidence, police reports and even witnesses, it was clear this man Lawrence Mitchell was abusive. He assaulted her older child and had slapped her youngest daughter in the face multiple times through the ages of 8 & 11. The judge stated that these incidents weren’t grounds for removal. BUT that’s just the beginning this “JUDGE” turned around the VERY NEXT WEEK and granted the ABUSER an Order of Protection against the mother. So the police arrive and tell her she has ten minutes to leave her abode that has her name on the lease as well as her name on ALL the bills. The mother and her children were forced to live in a motel. But this “JUDGE” decided she wasn’t finished. The next court day the abuser who was a narcissist said he “loved” my client and her children and wanted to reconcile. So Judge Gwyn Gulley threw out the Order of protection. The next day as the children and mother returned home he was yelling and stating he had an Order of Protect and was calling the police, the kids and mother were confused. Like I stated earlier Miss Gulley threw out the case at the request of Mr. Mitchell and his claims that he wanted to reconcile. But THE DAY AFTER or THE SAME DAY she threw out the Order of protection this HORRIBLE, SINISTER MONSTER of a judge granted the ABUSER a SECOND Order of Protection which got the children and mother removed from their abode when the police arrived and checked the validity of the SECOND Order of Protection. In while she stinks and will be sued or cost the state of Illinois money

This judge is an apathetic waste of a robe. Lazy, lazy, lazy. Not at all invested in truth or justice. Not at all interested in uncovering false allegations in her courtroom, which makes her an accomplice to the weaponization of the legal system.

She messed up a civil no stalking case that I was a defendant in. She's a shyster who takes advantage of the common law system to assert her authority as qualifying her rulings as legitimate. There was nothing reasonable about her ruling. Having studied the legal indeterminacy debate, I am woke to how she was full of bullshit.

Judge is biased. Did not look over facts that were presented. Let the plaintiff make her own rules stating it is convenient for her. This case should have been over with over 2 years ago; she has granted so many continuances. The custody issues are a joke! Having proof of the plaintiff lying on the stand does not even get a reprimand! This judicial system needs a revamp. Seems no one cares about the defendant, just keep dragging this on for years. All this does is line the pockets of the attorneys and the clients need to file bankruptcy.

Appears bored and disinterested. No reason to provide case law she is not at all interested in it. She does not have any passion or caring for her cases. Not effectual and cases drag on forever.

Horrible. She issues rule to show causes with out ever doing anything about them and fails to even put the persons name in the to section! Many are paying the price for her learning time- children especially who are being taken from their parents who always were their caregivers.

She doesn't listen to you if you don't have an attorney. She doesn't know the laws regarding jurisdiction and relies on the attorney's to tell her, regardless if they know the laws. She doesn't want to make "decisions" on anything just sign orders without thought and grant continuances. Her legal knowledge is lacking and for a salary of $189k/yr she should have more knowledge and actually listen "hear" cases. She seems to want to rush everything through just to get them out of her court room. She needs to be disbarred. Her ratings were low and WAS NOT RECOMMENDED by her peers to keep retention as judge. Unfortunately she was still voted in by uninformed and under-educated people. She has signed some very shady orders and will probably pay for it in the future when she is either sanctioned by the board and when someone finally files charges against her which is soon to come.

Help families and children who have been victimized by Judge Gulley and vote NO to keep her on the bench. Judge Gulley does NOT stand behind her own court orders and let's the real victims continue to suffer. She uses mediation as a tool to not make a decision and reappoints court dates as much as she changes her shoes. When a person is in contempt of a court order, Judge Gulley won't even hear the party that's been wronged. She shuts you down without listening to your concerns for your child's safety.

My story is just one of many! If you have family members or friends who have gone through a divorce with child custody or visitation issues....I'm sure they have run into Judge Gulley, especially if their situation has been high conflict. Judge Gulley preys on the real victims and lets the predators continue their abuse.
