I work at civil litigation firm in the Northwest Suburbs and have been appearing in front of Judge Fernandez for years. Judge Fernandez is one of the few Family Law Judges that 1) tries to apply the law, 2) follows the rules of civil procedure, 3) will give you a fair evidentiary hearing, 4) will strive to learn the facts of the case, 5) moves cases along, 6) enforces her orders, 7) and makes very fair recommendations and rulings.

She is absolutely the worst!
Refused to listen to or do anything about the abuse I was receiving. Refused to ban him from the property for over 8 months, in which my ex switched wires inside the furnace that almost caused a fire, after threatening to burn down the house with me in it. Then when she ordered him to taking over paying the medical insurance, so he took our daughters off the policy, she refused to hear or do anything that either. I finally excepted a horrible settlement because by then I couldn't trust her to be fair. Now I'm broke & getting food from the food pantry & he's living in a 6000 SQ ft house with an indoor pool.
I can't believe she's allowed to do this.
My attorney said he'll never take a case with her again.
AVOID ALL AT COSTS

One of the most terrifying experiences before a judge in a Rolling Meadows pro se dissolution of marriage prove-up. Awful temperment, constantly itching face, and wants to use standard supreme court forms for everything. Disrepectful and doesn’t live in the real world. Needs to go back to private practice. Wonder how many substitution of judge requests are made to get out under her . . .

Take an immediate change from J. Fernandez. She has no judicial temperment.
