What others have said about Hon. Rodney W. Equi

Comment #: IL1433
He is not at all concerned about the best interest of children. He favors mothers even when they are total deadbeats and the father has custodial custody. And if you don't have an attorney and are trying to comply pro se he doesn't even take you into consideration. Without a suit doing the talking for you, he's not interested in the facts. Regardless of the fact that the reason you are pro se is why you are in court in the first place...because the mother isn't paying her part. He is what is wrong with the system and it's a good thing that he is retired.

Comment #: IL1243
Good thing he's retired and can't do any further damage. Making comments about court drama like "this is why I drink" is a clue... ruling was not made based on solid facts applied to the law but what seemed like who bought him off. clearly a member of the old boys club...

Judge Equi should retire!

Comment #: IL1020
It is clear that he does not belong in the judicial system.

Comment #: IL1019
It is clear that he is prejudice against women. Judges by definition are to be fair. Clearly he is not. He opens the session by saying that life is not fair and proceeds by making unjust decisions. He Interprets the law the way he wants to and not the way it is. he gives the impression that he is not "well together"

Comment #: IL989
Judge Equi interprets legal papers the way he wants to and not the way they were written or intended. He is anti-pro-se and not at all interested in what is in a child's best interest. Terrible judge that should no longer be serving on the bench. The entire divorce legal system along with custody is so flawed and Judge Equi is a major contributor to the breakdown.
