Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: IL2049
Rating:3.6
Comments:
We were reassigned to Judge Ferguson after the original judge discovered a conflict of interest half way through discovery. We appear before him that day, and Judge Ferguson (believes he) already knows more about the case than the attorneys who had been litigating it for five months. He was condescending, he was rude, and I would take an S.O.J. immediately if I ever saw his name on a case again.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: IL1523
Rating:3.0
Comments:
Be prepared to read your brief to him at oral argument, because he probably did not bother to read it himself -- other than to check that it complied with the page limits provided in the local rules.

He won't let his ignorance of an area of the law prevent him from lecturing an attorney on the topic.

Likes the sound of his own voice.

Comments:
He is terrible as a trial judge. He is rude to both defendants and their attorneys.
