Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: IL988
Rating:9.3
Comments:
Was concerned when I read reviews about her favoritism towards large firms but those concerns were dispelled when she ruled firmly against the big firm. She clearly spent considerable time with the record and the law and issued a comprehensive, timely and appropriate decision. Also, had good demeanor and knowledge during the trial.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: IL824
Rating:2.1
Comments:
Pro-large firm and her attorney friends. She is poorly prepared in court, and creates facts to justify her acts. She becomes a litigant; she suggests objections for the favored side and then sustains them, and rephrases poorly phrased questions with "do you mean?" and so forth. Her industriousness is misplaced and misused. She makes a polite first impression, but she is more like a litigant than an impartial judge, so the polite facade is meaningless in a courtroom where she is presiding. If a judge appears on the bench in a timely manner, but creates havoc, the system of justice does not benefit. The variables are not weighted. Her flexibility depends on who is seeking it.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: IL122
Rating:6.8
Comments:
Very smart and educated judge but favors plaintiffs, at least in PI cases - and favors even more the big-name lawyers and/or her lawyer friends. Tough as nails and hard on both sides but favoritism seems to call into question some rulings.
