I'm not sure that I can say much more than what was already said in the other comments, other than to add that this judge is demeaning. I completely agree with the comments regarding his bias towards plaintiffs, his laziness and and his moodiness. I would report this judge for his inappropriate comments, but what would be the use? Nobody really cares. Welcome to Cook County Law Division, land of the indolent and home to injustice.

Tardy, lazy, and full of hubris. Judge Lawrence is certainly capable, but he doesn't apply himself. He is collecting a government paycheck. You won't get yourself in trouble with him because he's a do-nothing judge. That's good sometimes. But from the perspective of evaluating what he does and how he does it...he's pretty bad. In other words, you won't get screwed but he won't do anything either.

He can be moody from the bench and his rulings can tend to favor plaintiffs. At the same time, when he puts his mind to it (which is not often) his rulings can be well founded. Needs to apply himself on a more consistent basis.
