Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: IL1559
Rating:9.7
Comments:
Judge Griffin does a nice job of steering cases toward settlement without prematurely making decisions on the merits. He maintains an open mind despite non-evidentiary arguments. He also seems to understand the psychology of litigation: it seems like he's working with the attorneys to solve problems.

Criminal Defense Lawyer

Comment #: IL1354
Rating:6.3
Comments:
This judge gets high marks for schedule flexibility and evenhanded ness for the wrong reasons. He fails to set deadlines and allows cases to go on forever, allowing those who want to stall things out to cause undo delay and expense. He flip flops on his decisions way too easy, even at the same hearing and attempts play Solomen by splitting the baby in order to make both parties happy or both angry. He seems like a nice man with a decent temperament but just won't make a firm decision and pushes settlement to avoid appeal. Good judge for plaintiffs with bad cases.
