Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: IL588
Rating:1.1
Comments:
He was rude and impatient to the lawyers and litigants. Doesn't like to be challenged even when he is wrong. Constantly interrupted and acted as the attorney for a pro se defendant. He objected for the pro se litigant and then sustained his own objections! Took 18 months to rule on a bench trial. Worst judge I've tried a case before. Client was present for the entire trial and couldn't believe what he did.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: IL545
Rating:4.3
Comments:
He is one of those Judges that feels that his job is to MOVE cases, not administer the law. Accordingly, he denies Summary Judgment Motions wholly without regard to what the law requires, assuming, of course, that facing a trial will make the parties settle. His written rulings are completely inadequate - finds "questions of fact" without bothering to specify what they are. A very lazy approach to Motions of substance which forces parties to trial on issues they rightly deserve to win. Consistently bad experiences with this Judge.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: IL438
Rating:2.4
Comments:
Judge Pierce makes up for his unfamiliarity with the law and civil procedure by displaying a profound arrogance on the bench. Gratuitously rude to litigants and parties. Fearlessly commits reversible errors when necessary to achieve his desired outcome. He is the reason for the SOJ rule.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: IL379
Rating:2.5
Comments:
He is very impatient, and in my case he completely prejudged the claim without paying attention to the evidence. His ruling was completely contrary to the law.
