Judge Avery, subsequently appointed herself over my appeal from issues of the Orphans court. The original Judge assigned per Judge Avery called out of work due to a cold. This Judge dismissed all factual evidence submitted to the court. She dismissed the maryland estate &trust laws and deadlines notated in the constitution, she waiting 38 days from the date of trial to submit the decision. She has no true understanding of Estate law and engaged in ex parte communication with my lawyer in which I fired due to conflict of interest. Her opinion and Order regarding my case was biased and partial based on solely her feelings and emotions. If you find yourself with this judge on your case, do yourself a favor and request a different Judge.

I don't know about the other comments on Judge Avery - I've had a very different experience with her when she was a district court judge. Maybe it was inexperience, maybe it was the day, but she was jaded, opinionated, and biased. Fast to come to an opinion before all the evidence was presented. Biased. I can't imagine she's changed all that much since moving onto the Circuit Court.

I just finished a mechanic's lien trial with Judge Avery. I was very impressed. I lost on all of my objections, but she heard me out and was extremely even handed. She was very courteous to everyone in her courtroom and issued a prompt ruling. She is firm but very nice--the way a judge should be.

Judge Avery gave me hope that not all judges read "one script". She was very concerned about the matter at hand and wasn't swayed by an attorneys underhanded theatrics, off topic, manipulative behavior. She was focused on the two at hand, concerned about the real reason we were there and fair. She gave me hope in the judicial process for the first time. My only regret is that she not the site judge in this matter because her colleagues pale in comparison and don't care about the most important reason there there, the one that they are sworn to protect.....

I tried a relatively complex, but low damages, consumer dispute in front of Judge Avery. She was respectful, thoughtful and prepared. Her analysis was complete, and her opinion was upheld on appeal.
