Like some, I was displeased when Judge Miller was appointed. Since then, however, appearing before him in criminal and civil cases, I eventually came to the conclusion that he is one of the best District Court lawyers in MAryland. He is pleasant and respectful to the parties and legal counsel. He is compassionate when appropriate, and gets to the heart of the matter consistently, and rules wisely and fairly.

Practicing longer than Miller has been on the bench but I truly sigh relief when I/my clients have him on the bench. Always greets me by name and pleasant.
He is fair and allows sentences to be mitigated down for treatment and other factors if applicable.
As for DUI/DWI's..He takes them very seriously but he will not lock a Defendant up and throw away the key IF they show him they can change. Great guy, great judge, would never postpone.

Judge Miller heard my case regarding a final peace order case. He was fair and made certain the defendant understood the charges I accused him of by reciting each charge and confirming the defendant's understanding. Judge Miller sternly and provided in details how the defendant could be arrested if he broke any of these charges. He gave the defendant examples of what would constitute the defendant violating the peace order. Again, Judge Miller questioned the defendant's understanding of the terms of the peace order. I'm glad I had him as my judge.

Great judge. Takes pride in his work. Even carries huge piles of cases to the bench HIMSELF.

Surprising, because he does hear custody cases.

Judge Miller heard a custody case I was involved in back in 2011; we were in trial for 2 1/2 days. He is a very fair-minded judge. Though he appeared disinterested to the point of being bored, he was actually very attentive to the facts. In his holdings he was extremely detailed, quoting many facts of the case in his opinion. He focused less on his personal opinion and more on what would be best for the child involved. He is everything I would hope a judge to be. We were very lucky to have been before him for this case.

This is a great judge, and going to be even better. Don't hold his political appointment against him. All the judges are political appointees and every lawyer knows someone more qualified than the judges and who should be on the bench

I was actually pretty angry when I saw Judge Miller appointed, then appeared in front of him. He's actually pleasant, even handed, and fair. He also knows the law. A good Judge.
