I have mixed feelings about Judge Solt. She does try to be fair, but she is biased, and once she makes up her mind, no evidence will change her opinion. I find her to be very opinionated. Sometimes, she is wrong.

After defending a 2-day civil bench trial before Judge Solt, I came away with a very positive impression. She is courteous, fair, attentive and closely follows the evidence. She did not favor the hometown Frederick lawers, which was my concern going in to trial.

She is an excellent judge with an even temper. Although she spent most of her career as a prosecutor, she is generally even-handed and is not afraid to rule against the State when necessary. Her prior experience comes out most in child abuse cases, where she is generally a tough sentencer (although most other judges are too). She works hard and is very good with the law. Does an great job in civil cases too. Should be an appeals court judge someday.
