This Judge is a different cloth for PG county. His ability to communicate and allow people to feel secure is awesome.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comments:
The Judge did not accurately inform the record that the Plaintiff appeared in Court and that he told the Plaintiff there was no case scheduled. The case was also not on the docket. The Plaintiff left the Courtroom. He subsequently took up the case and ruled for the Defendant on the basis that the Plaintiff did not show up. This was after I had called in to say I was late etc. and showed up in Court and told him who I was. He was not the regular Judge but was sitting in for the judge we wanted recused. We had asked for the recusal of the regular judge (clayton aarons) - the situation with the case had become so bad. (He granted the Def. summary judgment when the Pl. was in hospital and could not attend the trial, several documents were removed from the case file and the Plaintiff had to keep reintroducing them etc.) The Defendant is a Medical doctor and the firm is funded by his insurer. Heffron J. stated acc. to the Record that he was not a civil judge and admitted to not knowing civil matters. PG county and Howard should do e-filing, and a more serious monitoring system should be in place to ensure that it does not become a ghetto for justice.

This judge is a stark contrast from most of the PG bench. He is always on time, friendly, and he actually knows how to apply the law. I have appeared in front of him several times and he has remained consistent in his jovial demeanor. Two thumbs up!

Heffron should be put on the Circuit Court bench.

Not only is Judge Heffron smart and fair, he is punctual, friendly, and perfect for the bench. Heffron should definitely be elevated to Circuit Court. Prince George's County needs more judges just like him!

This judge is the brightest, most gifted member of the Prince George's County District Court. He should not only train all incoming judges so that maybe they have the chance of being more like him, he should consider putting in for Circuit Court.

If Prince George's County could clone this judge and replace the full cadre of ill-tempered and downright dumb judges it has, the world would be a better place. Judge Heffron has the best temperament and attitude I have ever witnessed on the bench, and he can disagree with you without yelling. Easily my favorite in PG and in the top 5 of the hundreds of judges that I have appeared before.
