Judge Wright appeared to have a biased opinion with a case he dealt with on 8/20/19. He did not allow equal parties the right to speak and provide details about the case. He ruled in favor of the wrong side. He made a very inaccurate assumption about one individual when he said that person was controlling his significant other and causing a discord to her family. The woman he was referring to has been experiencing pain/suffering and domestic abuse and violence for over 20 years with the people that went to trial. He assumed the gentleman who finally tried to help her was to blame. She has only known her significant other shy of 2 yrs so NO he's not the issue. He was far from justice with this case. The party he ruled in favor of actually are the abusers and just got away with harming the elderly woman who takes care of them. What he did not allow to come out was that the women in the party he favored actually are abused by the gentleman they were with. Both of the ladies in that party are scared of him and there are records on file how many times the police have had to respond to domestic calls. He suggested that the family just go to dinner and work it out! Not sure how many victims would love to share an ice cream cone with someone who abuses them. Maybe he was just exhausted towards the end of the day.

As a student studying criminal justice in undergrad, I had the pleasure of shadowing Judge Wright. While shadowing Wright, It quickly became clear that he is very intelligent concerning the law and he is very respectful to both sides of the room when court is in session. I now work in the pg circuit court and I believe Wright is over in the District. Looking forward to greeting the Judge again. If you are in college or law school and looking to shadow a Judge, you should send Judge Wright a request to his chambers.

Very fair and respectful to counsel. Good demeanor. He took the time to look up an obscure point of law in a trial I had with him to make sure his ruling was fair. Great addition to the PG bench.
