Extremely rude, disrespectful and biased when dealing with defendants particularly in criminal cases. I have had the misfortune of dealing with her in a case in which I was arraigned without arrest on misdemeanor charges without a probable cause hearing for drug possession as a result of a search warrant that was executed at my home due to someone that I was renting a room to.

I have video of the police barging into my home without announcement, forcibly entering by shoving the door open when I answered. Judge Mccarthy placed me on pretrial conditions of release over the objections of my defense attorney, and without taking into consideration the fact that I have never been arrested in my life, have previously worked as a federally cleared IT contractor, and that no drugs were physically in my possession when the police searched my home.

Several of the officers involved have history of civil rights/misconduct cases, and in my case, officers did not turn over a multitude of information to the prosecution, which Judge Mccarthy repeatedly failed to acknowledge as she seemingly was only concerned with moving towards trial.

She outright laughed at us in the court room on one occasion. At one point, after my 3rd attorney failed to assert my rights in regards to the due process issues and concerns regarding discovery compliance by the police, I chose to represent myself, at which point Judge Mccarthy became derisive, making comments about how it was her decision whether or not I could represent myself, and then when I stated that I had a right to do so, asked me if I was trained as a lawyer. I responded by saying that I was not trained as a lawyer but that I was educated and knew my rights, to which Judge Mccarthy responded by saying that she then understood why 3 lawyers had withdrawn from my case.

She has violated the rights of many defendants that come before her with blatant disregard for the laws, the constitution, her oath and moral code and the rights of these people as American citizens. There is one particular case where she threatened a woman with indictments in superior court which she has no right to do personally to intimidate her into not pursuing a revise and revoke which is her right as an American citizen and in which she claims she wants to take back her plea because she was mentally anguished when making it after being confronted by her abusive ex whom judge McCarthy herself has issued 4 years worth of restraining orders against him for her in the hallway of the court house after the court allowed the woman to be put in the same area of the court house unattended with her abuser and then after threatening her with indictments which boils down to intimidation and blackmail she then threatens to bring in her abusive ex for the hearing for the revise and revoke on a case he has nothing to do with....she has also accused this woman of being high at a previous court date when she had on front of her a drug test from 25 minutes prior done by her staff that stated she was negative for all substances and shes a recovering addict with 4 almost 5 years of sobriety and this judge is supposed to be a drug court judge showing sympathy to addicts and helping addicts and yet would make such a bold accusation when she has proof the woman is stone cold sober in her hand....she also has been heard by many employees of the court stating that she hates this woman's boyfriend who is known to the court and thus its believed that she has a personal vendetta against this woman due to her dislike of her boyfriend oh and lets not forget the day she illegally held the woman for over an hour to teach her a lesson only to let her go with no bail no new terms nothing.....shes abusing her power.....shes insulted a recovering addict who managed to get and stay clean by implying she was high when she had proof in her hand she was not, she has threatened, attempted to blackmail, stepped on the rights of, spit on the constitution, broke her oaths and moral code ethics as a judge and probably broken a few laws in just this one case so I can only imagine theres quite a few other people out there that have been wronged by her.....disgusting shes allowed to be a judge and have the power she does when she either doesn't know the law at all or just doesn't think it applies to her....either way she needs to be taken off the bench immediately.....
