Let?s just say I agree completely with Comment # MA565 left on 1/4/18, so sadly he apparently has not changed (or has gotten worse given his reviews in earlier years). I?d also add that it seems he is racist, and this is coming from a white guy. Frivolous claim of abuse was very evident, a parent?s life has been forever ruined, and his child?s life will surely have huge negative impacts as well. Indeed a tragedy of epic proportions for those affected.

Let’s just say I was surprised that Judge Maurice Flynn III’s name was not on the “Bottom 10 Judges” list. Judge Flynn botched the job of detecting a frivolous claim of abuse, and worse, he butchered the law procedurally with at least six judicial errors and abuse of discretion. This injustice presided over by Judge Flynn has been a tragedy for our family of epic proportions.

BEWARE: judge does not bother to look at any evidence towards defendents in eviction cases especially. His mind is already made up before you enter his courtroom. Btw...when you see him looking at you while scribbling on his papers, its NOT a good sign. He doesn't have a care in the world for a single mom and her disabled son being thrown out on the street through a NO FAULT eviction as long as he has a nice warm bed to stay in at night and living the good life...who cares! KARMA is a b%#!h. He will be judged too. Feel sorry for you, Judge Flynn. No time given to a mom and her kid who owed ZERO dollars, did nothing wrong except ask for a little extra time to find an apt. and threw us on the street? The abuse of your power is shameful. You are trying to over ride another judge's decision and are just pissed off because this mom filed a complaint with the commission on judiciary conduct after you called her a liar when you wouldn't give her a chance to think about what the question was you were asking! You have NO business being a judge. I hope you don't EVER have anyone living with you who has a disability. God knows..they wouldn't stand a chance.

Judge Flynn seems like a decent judge - very fair on criminal matters, and resolves most minor issues by dismissing them entirely or just on payment of court costs. Very fair in criminal. In civil, he has more a mixed record, and does not necessarily seem entirely familiar with the rules of civil procedure or the uniform summary process rules, or maybe just ignores them.

However, I have to say that his court (somerville, where he is the first justice) has some of the rudest clerks I have ever encountered, anywhere.
