Over two decades practicing law. Hon. Mary Dacey White is the worst jurist I have come across. She isn’t prepared. Easily distracted. Showboats (I am not sure for whom). Maybe the clerks. Best hope for the Commonwealth is that she retires soon. Her ratings here - pre this review - seem consistent with her awfulness.

Prompt but comes across as unprepared. Controls her court room and is decisive. Does not however seem to grasp all the issues effectively and projects impatience (temperment does not seem well suited to the bench). Imagine she is most effective on the criminal side of the house. One to avoid if your matter has layers or complexity.

Like most female judges now, anything alleged by a female against a male is taken as gospel, and the male is guilty until proven innocent. Judge White is lazy and unable to see through her obvious biases. Has no business on the bench.

SHE IS VERY UNFAIR IN REFUSING TO SEAL CRIMINAL RECORDS. MOST JUDGES BEND OVER BACKWARDS - ESPECIALLY IF THE DEFENDANT IS A PROFESSIONAL. JUDGE WHITE IS UNREASONABLE.

poor. she refused to seal a record only because my prospective employers did not write letters denying employment. my employers DO NOT WRITE LETTERS. however, I was denied employment because of a criminal charge that ended in a straight dismissal. as a result of j. white's singular policy, I am having a lot of trouble with work.

She is unfair about sealing records. She seems to require a letter refusing work when my employers do not write letters. I have been denied employment several times, but since the denial was done in writing Judge White would not seal the record.

I am reserving my final opinion of this judge. One thing that I did not like was that she laughed at a time during the proceedings that was inappropriate. I had a very immature lawyer who presented the case in a way that did not reflect well upon my family. The judge laughed at either the lawyer -- which was fine with me and appropriate, as I couldn't fire the lawyer since it would cost me too much money -- or at the mention of a family member of mine who had just died -- which was grossly inappropriate.

This judge is an extremely competent, professional, and very fair. She is careful, through, and Deliberative in her passing on the law, wheather it is a civil or criminal case. I was involved in a complex interjurisdictional case before her a while ago. She was focused and precise in her interpretation of the law. Dispite the other less than favorable reviews here, she is an excellent judge, and deserves much praise. The others with their negative views have a axe to grind and are not being fair to this judge. They are sour grapes because they disagree with the outcome of a particular case. They fail to evaluate the performace of the judge on objective critieria! She is truly a credit to her profession! I look forward to dealing with Judge Dacey White again in the future.

Unfortunately, I can only repeat the previous opinion - "there is nothing Honorable about Dacey White. She is a total disgrace to the bench and legal profession."

There is nothing Honorable about Dacey White. She is a total disgrace to the bench and legal profession. I was the defendant in what was proved to be a totally baseless case. Judge White's behavior at preliminary hearings for this case was simply outrageous. So outrageous that my lawyer finally, after consulting with her colleagues, filed a motion for recusal, which Judge White refused. She showed extreme bias against my attorney, was rude and cut her off during hearings, ignored very serious charges against the plaintiffs attorney. After the first hearing - a motion for summary judgement, we assumed she had some personal connection to the plaintiffs or their attorney. Even others in court the first day made a comment to my attorney about this judge's behavior.
From my lawyer: I have repeatedly advised the judge she(the plaintiff's attorney) is lying. I pointed it out again in my motion for recusal (said she had responded to all discovery when even at time of hearing she had not) and in motion for reconsideration of sanctions ("Plaintiffs counsel has put several significant and misleading statements in pleadings to this court including a statement that defendant had cost other consumers thousands of dollars when in fact that was not true; a statement that she had retained Mr. Woodrow Hughes as an expert, when in fact she had not; a statement in pleadings and in court that application of a deck sealant was standard in the industry when it was not; and a statement in pleadings that plaintiffs had responded to interrogatories and discovery when they had not.") These facts should, under the judicial rules of conduct, have prompted the judge to report Hurley (the plaintiffs attorney). (end of my attorneys comment)

I do not like to think I am naive in holding members of the legal profession to extremely high standards. It is disillusioning to see that they do not hold themselves to the same standards.

Fair, hardworking and knowledgeable. Great at settlement issues and has a good grasp of the legal issues. Don't try and be cute with legal issues that have no basis or she will land on you with both feet. A great motion judge.

Judge White is by far the worst judge I have appeared before in my 24 years as an attorney. Not only does she not have the grasp a first-year law student would of contracts and torts, she is unprofessional, irrational and totally lacks judicial temperament. I have never experienced the level of bias I have experienced with her in any other case.
